Without showering first after he got back into his apartment, Podd jumped into his IKEA couch and immediately saved Gawin's number and swiped into texting him. It was just a simple, polite text that included 'This is Podd, the guy that had his engagement proposal crashed a few days ago.' 'Would like to treat you a dinner for helping me back there and sorry for getting you fired.' 'How about on Wednesday night?'

Podd rechecked twice the message before he sent it. Then he began undressing himself idly, slightly agitated with anticipation of Gawin's reply text.

On that night, Podd waited for his reply and wondered if he had his number wrong and yet he drifted to his sleep still without any reply from him.

Podd waited on the next day and the next day. He finally had enough on the third day and decided to call the number during his lunch. He excused himself from his chattering colleagues, saying that he needed to call someone and walked out from their favourite restaurant.

He stared briefly at the number and then initiated the call.

The call trying to reach the other line for 15 seconds, and Podd already assumed it wouldn't be answered until he heard the familiar beep sound that foretelling the call had connected.

Impatient, "Hello, is this Gawin?"

"Yes," "Who's this?" Podd heard the same baritone voice, knowing to himself, the number that he had received was indeed belong to Gawin.

Instead of introducing his name, "Have you got my message?" "It was two days ago and you're being a total jerk for not replying it." "I just wanted to treat you a dinner." Podd was rapidly voicing out his inner frustration and there was a dejected note in his voice at the end.

The other line was in silent for a while.

"Mr. Podd." Yup, Gawin had read his message.

"I don't think there's a need to reply to your message."

"Why?" "You're being inconsiderate because you shouldn't left someone hanging, waiting for the reply." Oh Podd was fuming right now, he clutched his iPhone tightly in his hold.

Gawin was sighing on the other line like it was some kind of a new problem to him and conversing with Podd was troublesome. "It's okay, there's no need to repay with anything. I was doing my job."

There were faint noises in the background, like murmur of voices coming out together.

"I don't want to listen to any excuses, I. Want. To. Treat. You. A. Dinner and reply back to me whether you're free or not on Wednesday night." He insisted with voice raising an octave higher.

Podd quickly hung up, boiling in irritation as he rubbed his sore temple. He took a moment to school himself back to normal self.

Podd was not the type that got mad easily but his patience was thin enough that he might completely went berserk. And if Gawin did not answered the call, Podd would be trying anything to get an answer from him.

And when he spun, a few of his colleagues were eyeing him with funny looks. Podd stopped on his track, lips formed an innocent smile.

While they were passing him, one of them patted his shoulder, giving a friendly squeeze as they went to smoke.

Podd wished badly that they did not listen to the call.

A few sharp knocks on the door brought Podd's attention to his open office room. There were times that he liked to let his room present to everyone's eyes that passing it, when he was stressed out with the reports and his small room was suffocating his lungs, making him claustrophobic.
