yangyang excused himself from the preparations happening in donghyuck's place. his heart was racing. the cluster of emotions piling to the beat of his heel growing as each step lead him closer to the entrance of his parents house. what made his younger sister behave like this?

yangyang knew mark was already in there with yuanyuan and his mom and dad. they were just waiting for the eldest to arrive. he knocked on the door before opening it and saw everyone situated in the living room. quite the suffocating atmosphere engulfing the room.

the detrimental child sat on the chair opposite to the family members while mark sat on the adjacent chair on the right.

sheer panic was noticeable on yuanyuan's face when her father cleared his throat.

"I am so disappointed in you, yuanyuan," ms.liu said, close to tears. yangyang noticed and caressed the back of his mother to calm her down. it was safe to say that everyone in this room was unhappy at the young lady.

"first and foremost, you need to apologize to donghyuck and minhyung. second, you're going to therapy. lastly, we're going to keep our eyes on you 24/7 so you're moving back here for the rest of high school and you're NOT moving out for college. we gave you too much freedom and this is what you show us" said mr.liu with grim in his voice.

mark saw the audacity of yuanyuan to roll her eyes like the bratty kid she is.

yangyang saw it, too, "yuanyuan, what is wrong with you? why would you hurt my friend who clearly didn't show any ill intent towards you?"

"I just don't like him," she answered as if that was a justifiable reason to give.

"oh, honey. you were such a great child growing up. what made you turn out this way?" mrs.liu asked, very concerned.

"yeah, I was. you want to know what my problem is?"

mark raised a brow. he felt uncomfortable with this serious family matter. all he wanted was an apology but he received a front row seat to a soap opera.

"no matter what I accomplishment I desperately worked hard to get, you never looked my way. all those sleepless nights because I at least want to show you I was putting effort in school was rewarded with negligence. It was always yangyang this and yangyang that. what about me? there was never a time where you showered me as much affection you gave to yangyang. it was always the bare minimum for me. somewhere down the line, I sensed a deep hatred towards everyone because of my frustrations."

"I envied donghyuck so much because he grabbed everyone's attention with little to no effort. everyone adored him because, yeah, he was talented in many ways and he had a kind heart.

mark tried his best to hide the smile creeping on his face because of she said about his sunshine.

"but because of my insecurities, I wanted to see his demise. i know what i did was wrong but i was already a lost cause. I know saying that i'm sorry isn't enough nor do I deserve your forgiveness. all i can promise is that i'm going to delete that stupid account and never show myself to you two again"

silence.

it was agonizing to be in this house. mark could sense that what she said was heartfelt and it was more than enough for him. witnessing this family matter drained him to his core. he fixed his suit and bowed to the parents for having him there. before he left, he gave yangyang a pat on the shoulder to show his gratitude.

fucking finally.

finally, this nuisance of a problem gave him a just end.

he headed out of the liu household and entered the car kun is obliged to drive.

"back to the office, right?" a reassuring query by kun.

"I'm tired. I already finished revising most of the proposals. can you drive me back home? i need the rest i need to be able to spend more time with donghyuck tomorrow," replied a giddy mark.

the driver rolled his eyes. he knew mark well enough to know that the two lovebirds will be calling each other until one of them falls asleep first.

mark jumped on his bed with phone on his hand.

"hey, sunshine" he smiled while his eyelids collapsed.

"someone sounds tired", donghyuck said with the same exhaustion.

"today was quite a day"

"you tell me"

"I was with yangyang earlier, by the way"

"oh, I was with him earlier, too. but he said he had to go home for something. didn't really filled us in anything else"

he continued, "what happened? why where you in his house?"

"we reprimanded yuanyuan for continuously tarnishing your image online"

haechan paused for a second. he only gave an uncomfortable chuckle to the name of the real culprit.

"aren't you mad at her?"

"don't get me wrong. i am very mad at her. i thought she was my friend for providing support when you and i weren't in good terms but i guess all of that was fake"

haechan continued, "I don't want to waste my energy on something that's already been settled. thank you for doing all of this for me, mark"

and with that, mark spent the rest of the evening telling haechan about the soap opera he was unlucky enough to be invited to.
