Royal Meeting

Nozel woke up and looked at the window. The sun was rising. He got up and looked at (Y/N). She was still sleeping.

He slowly got out of the chalet and went to the nearest village to buy food and clothes for (Y/N). He went back, placed them on a table and left.

It was 8 am so he had time to return without anybody noticing it. He arrived at the castle went quickly to his room to get a shower and went to the dinning room for breakfast.

On the way to the dinning room, he met with Alfred who was concerned about his suddenly leaving yesterday.

"Oh, Your Majesty, you're back!" he said in relief.

"Of course I'm back, and now excuse me, I go to eat." he said and passed him, but Alfred cut his sigh.

"Wait, Your Majesty! Where have you been last night?"

"That's none of your business!" he said with a cold and annoyed tone. "Now get out of my sigh!"

"Just another thing, Your Majesty."

"If you're gonna ask me about what I did last night I'll..."

"It's not that. The Royal Meeting is today at 1 pm." Alfred said and Nozel sighed in annoyance. He didn't like The Royal Meeting at all.

After the previous king's reign, for making peace with the other kingdoms, Nozel joined joined in the Royal Alliance. The Royal Alliance was formed with the rulers of eight kingdoms: Crimson Lion, Coral Peacock, Golden Dawn, Black Bull, Blue Rose, Green Mantis, Purple Orca and Gray Deer, and its purpose was to maintain peace between them and help each other to stay strong and united for the enemy kingdoms threats. It was led by the king of the Gray Deer Kingdom, Julius Novachrono and the Royal Meetings were hosted by him as well.

Nozel ate the breakfast and got ready to go to the Gray Deer Kingdom. He summoned his silver eagle and flew to the meeting.

On the way there, he met with the king of the Crimson Lion Kingdom, Fuegoleon Vermillion, flying on his salamander. He was a serious king who helped Nozel in restoring his kingdom with money and advises. Because of that, after his kingdom was restored, Nozel respected him and helped Fuegoleon back everytime he had problems.

They both leaned on the Gray Deer Castle's grounds and went inside to the meeting room. It was silence between them because Nozel wasn't a friendly man and he wasn't good at starting a conversation.

"So...How was your month?" Fuegoleon asked.

"Normal, as always. Yours?" Nozel responded with a calm tone.

"Same...Well...not really. I'm engaged now. Yesterday, I proposed to my girlfriend and she accepted."

"Congratulations!"

"Thanks!" Fuegoleon said and it was silence again. Even if they were friends, they didn't really have what to discuss to each other.

Nozel wasn't a talkative person and Fuegoleon found that strange because he knew something from each king and queen from the Royal Alliance, except from Nozel. Since Nozel joined the Alliance, he didn't said anything about his life and he never stayed over the meeting to drink with them.

After some minutes, they entered in the meeting room and sat on their seats. After everyone arrived, the meeting started.

In the meeting, everyone had to show their reports about economy, army status, citizens opinion etc. That time, nobody had a problem so the meeting was very short, but, before Julius ended the meeting, Fuegoleon announched his engagement. Everyone congratulated him and Yami decided to tease Nozel on that subject.

"Congratulations, Fuegoleon! I'm relieved that you're not gonna end up like Nozel." he said and Nozel frowned at him.

"What did you say?" he said very angry.

"What you heard, Lame Braid. I relieved that Fuegoleon won't end up to be a lonely and unwanted man, like you!" he said and Nozel stood up and slapped the table.

"How dare you insulting me like that? Do you know who I am?" Nozel said with a high tone. He was really pissed off.

"Yeah, I know who you are. You are a freak with a stupid braid between his eyes who came here out of the blue saying that he's the new king of the Silver Eagle Kingdom. You've joined the Alliance five years ago and nobody knows a single thing about you. How can we trust a stranger like you..."

"Yami, that's enough!" Julius said. "If he doesn't want to talk about himself, that's none of our business! Don't forget that he helped us when we had problems and won our trusts. If you don't want to cooperate, you can leave the Alliance." he said seriously and Yami stopped. Leaving the Alliance wasn't a good idea because he wouldn't be helped anymore if he left it. Nozel, on the other hand, he didn't sat down on his chair and left the meeting. They tried to stop him, but it was pointless, he didn't listen to them.

On the way back to his kingdom, Nozel was thinking about Yami's words: a lonely and unwanted man, like you! You are a freak with a stupid braid between his eyes... His words reminded him of how he was bullied at school when he was a boy, in other words, when he was weak :

It was in the middle school. Nozel was in the 7th grade and he liked a girl. On a break, he gave her a rose and asked her for a date, she took his rose and... (teaser for a future chapter)

Before he could remind more, he arrived at his castle and looked himself in his office until night. When Yami said that to Nozel, he awakened something in Nozel that made him vulnerable and scared, the reason why he hate women.
