23. December:
Carina moved into Maya's house. She cancelled her flight back to Seattle. She will start working at the hospital here when the holidays are over.
They got ready, because today was breakfast at Travis and Vic's with everyone.
Carina stood in front of the mirror and put on a scarf. behind her back her beautiful girlfriend appeared. Maya came closer and put her arms around Carina's waist saying "you're beautiful baby"
They smiled and Carina slowly turned around putting her arms around Maya's neck. „I am glad I found you!"
„Ready ? Let's go they're waiting for us.. we are late" Maya asked laughing.
When Maya and Carina returned a few hours later. Maya lit the fireplace/chimney that happened to be so well placed that the Christmas tree could safely stand in the corner next to it.
They made it cozy in front of the open fire and the tree. Just in time for the fire, Carina sat down behind her girlfriend and handed her hot chocolate.
Maya leaned back, laying her head on Carina's chest embraced by one of Carina's arm she wanted to ask her girlfriend something but she wasn't sure about it.
„What are you thinking about bella?"
„I just wanted to ask you something but I don't want you to get sad or mad.. so I am not sure about it."
„Maya you already started just ask me, I won't be mad. Promised!" Carina said giving Maya a kiss.
Maya began to make gentle up and down movements with her hand on Carina's arm „So since the day that we met.. you didn't celebrate or even like Christmas, right?" Carina nodded. „And you moved away when you were younger. I just want to know what it is that made you unlike Christmas."
Carina sighed „Ascolta, bella. Actually I hate talking about that day but you're my family now and you deserve to know it. I was eight and it was the 24th when my mamma and I were driving home from her work. When we arrived at the corner of our street we saw dad in a car kissing another woman.. that Christmas night nothing remained of my family apart from my mom and me. It was just the two of us both my mom and my dad were sure about the divorce. We moved to Seattle because my mom found a job here. She had cancer and after that night she kinda lost all of her power but she stayed strong for me. A few years later a week maybe not even a week before Christmas my mamma died."
Maya sat up facing her girlfriend „I am sorry baby. It's okay if you don't wanna go on. You don't have to."
„Don't worry, bella.. I am good and now the last thing that made me unlike Christmas and drink alone at a bar every Christmas and NYE. I had a girlfriend and only two days before Christmas she broke up with me. I never understood why.. she just left me a letter and I have never seen her again. I just lost the hope I found with you again."
Maya hugged Carina „I am grateful for having you here by my side! I am glad that you found your hope again."
They were cuddling and kissing each other, dancing to music and they went for a walk before they enjoyed the night watching a Christmas movie.
„Cheers to a new beginning and to us. I love you!"
