Christmas decoration

December, 15:

Since they are all staying in california for Christmas this year, it made the most sense to decorate the house of Vic and Travis because it would be easier for Adriana to join them.

On their way home Carina and Adriana saw Maya driving to Vic with a Christmas tree on her car.

While Carina and Adriana slowly arrived at Vic to see what the others were doing, Maya and Travis packed the boxes with the decorations from the car into the house.

„Since we're all staying in California for the holidays doesn't it make more sense to celebrate at Maya's house? It's the biggest and it's perfectly decorated every year." Adriana asked when they arrived.

„Well you know celebrating here is easier for you and easier for us too since we don't have as much room to decorate as we would have in my house."

Travis and Maya kept going with transporting the boxes.

"Ok can you guys just stop for a minute and listen to me. It's nice of you but you're house is perfect those few days that we always spent at your house every christmas since we know each other are the best ones so your house is the best one. I'm sitting in a wheelchair and because of that it doesn't make a big difference where we celebrate, which means no reason left to celebrate here."

"I don't understand what you find in christmas anyway. Why all of this decoration and all the drama and celebrations." Carina said softly but still loud enough for the others to hear.

They looked at her and then just agreed with Adriana and packed everything back into the trunk of Maya's car. She invited them to her house to decorate it.

6pm at Maya's house:

Carina left Adriana here a few hours ago and went to the City to free her mind because every little minute that she stayed at Maya's house made her even more think about all the bad memories she made on Christmas 22 years ago.

While they almost finished decorating Maya's house Carina came back to get Adriana if they're done.

"Hey can we talk?"

"Of course. Come with me." Adriana said to Carina.

"Look, I came back for you because I didn't want to let you alone here and I thought of leaving as soon as you're able to walk again. We are doing the therapy and you're doing pretty good already and your doctor said you will probably be able to walk before christmas.. so I thought I leave one or two days before christmas so I can go back to Seattle. There is always a lot going on at the Hospital on christmas evening every help will be needed."

Hearing all of those sentences kinda made Adriana mad. "Oh so if I would be able to walk tomorrow you would leave ? Do I get that right? I don't want to force you stay here.. my family is back and I am sure they will care for me. Just go back to Seattle and wait for christmas at the Bar drinking alone again. Sorry if I am being rude but I need to let this out!"

That hurt. That was definitely not how Carina meant it but she knows her cousin too well.. trying to explain won't change anything tonight. She still wanted to try.

Maya and the others heard them too and they didn't know if they should look after them or just leave them alone. Vic knew how this is going to end .. nothing has changed, Carina and Adriana are still the same. She Decoder to walk over to the kitchen trying to figure out a way for them to calm down.

"You know exactly that I didn't mean it like that Ri. It's just being here brings many memories and emotions back. Christmas makes it even worse. I may have grown and should forget about it but I can't."

"Girls just calm down, take some deep breaths and try talking later again about whatever made you speak loud enough for us to hear you Ri." Vic said when she walked in.

"I will stay here tonight. Oh and don't worry Maya is able to bring me back tomorrow during the day. Gold night." Adriana said and went to the others afterwards.

Before Vic could let out a noise Carina started crying and walked out of the door. Maya saw her and ran after her because she has never seen Adriana being mad or scream at someone. Also she couldn't stand seeing this beautiful italian woman cry.

"Carina, wait!" she ran in Front of Carina's car and didn't let her get into the car. "Are you okay.. I mean you better don't drive the car now. If you really want to leave I can drive you or maybe we go for a walk and you take somw fresh air and afterwards you can drive wherever you want to."

That sounded good but she just exploded without thinking about it.
"I am not okay and that's because of this City and this stupid holidays. I hurt the only person that I never wanted to hurt. I hurt my family. I want to drive home now please so if you just move away, go back home decorating for christmas or do whatever you want to just move."

Maya didn't take it Personal she knows that it's just a reaction because of what happened a few minutes ago. Giving her the space she asked for was the best solution. It just made her curious why she hated christmas this much.

"Take care and maybe just let someone of us know that you arrived." she said opening the door for Carina.

Afterwards she waited for Carina to drive away and then she walked back in to check on Adriana.

Andy welcomed her at the door to tell her that Vic had talked to Adriana and that they shouldn't talk about it anymore.

Maya just nodded and walked in further still thinking about Carina.

It didn't take Carina long to get home..she walked in walked into her room wearing some comfy clothes and got her self a glass of red wine.

She had to think about Maya running after her instead of looking after Adriana.. it made her smile softly.
She kept drinking a few glasses.

At Maya's house:
Somehow Adriana managed to just not think about it.. she could understand Carina but she needed tonight apart from her cousin.

While they were talking about Christmas and what they'll bring to the party Maya felt a vibrate in her back pocket ... she took out her cell phone. When she looked at her cell phone she got a notification.

Two message from unknown. She opened it up.

Unknown:
Hey I wanted to thank you and apologize for how I acted earlier. Drinking alone is no fun.. if you wanna join me you know where to find me. XO

The second one was a picture. She scrolled down and saw a picture of Carina in comfy clothes holding a glass of red wine in front of half of her face.

Just as Maya wanted to answer vic walked in. The moment she touched Maya's shoulder from behind Maya panicked and put her phone back into her pocket.

"Hi sorry for walking in like a ghost.. we just wanted to ask you if we can stay here all together since it's already pretty late. It also be better with Adriana."

Maya nodded "of course.. I will leave now. I am going out for a drink don't wait for me, it's gonna be late."

"Uhh. It's been a while since you were out for 'a drink' at this time.. have fun."

Maya walked upstairs to wear something comfy but still kinda impressive and sexy and then she left.
