Cassidy lay on her bed, fiddling with her charm as she reminisced about her day. She was discovered by Holden, the asshole, and Axle. They were like her, supernatural, but they were Dragon-Breathers. She really was a Faery and she had Sight, which only seemed to work on Holden without the aid of her necklace. God, Cassidy was drained. She shifted around in her bed before getting comfortable, closing her eyes contently. She began to doze when she heard a soft rapping on her window. Please, tell me it's not who I think it is. Opening her eyes, Cassidy looked to her left and smiled. It was Tyler. She quickly got up and opened the window. Tyler quietly crept in and gave Cassidy his best smile.
At seeing his handsome face, Cassidy couldn't help the butterflies let loose inside her stomach. Unbidden, a thought popped into her head. That Dragon-Breather was really handsome, too. Cassidy frowned and scolded herself; it was wrong of her to compare Tyler to them, and Cassidy wasn't really sure which Dragon-Breather she was thinking about.
"What's wrong?" Cassidy looked up and saw Tyler frowning at her. She smiled reassuringly at him, "Oh, nothing. It's just been a long day. Not to be rude because I'm happy to see you, but what are you doing here?"
Tyler instantly smiled again, causing the butterflies to return. He half-shrugged, "Grace called me and asked me to come check on you. Apparently, you are under the weather? Are you okay?" Before Cassidy could reply, she heard her phone tone with a new message notification. She grabbed it off the nightstand and checked her messages. It was from an unknown number.
*axle and i will be in touch. save this number.*
Cassidy bit her lip to keep from smiling since she had no real reason to smile. Cassidy quickly saved the number, labeling it 'HOLDEN THE ASS'. Tyler's voice came from just over her shoulder, "Who's Holden?"
"Someone I know. He's a friend, I guess," she told him. To warrant off any more inquiries about him, Cassidy slid her phone underneath her pillow and faced her crush. "Well, I'm fine. However, I'm very tired. Tell Grace I'm okay and I'm sorry I couldn't come over," Cassidy prattled as she pushed Tyler towards the window. Tyler laughed, "You can stop pushing, Cass. I'm going. See you later."
After he left, Cassidy closed and locked the window. She plopped gracelessly onto her bed, shutting her eyes. Vibrant green eyes crossed her eyes right before she fell asleep.

Cassidy sat in her car, zoning out as Grace and Tyler talked quietly around her. It had been a week since she last saw Holden and Axle, a horrible, hellish week. Cassidy hadn't heard from either Dragon-Breather in eight days and she felt horrible. She was having mood swings and her skin grew paler and more haggard as the days passed. She was constantly hungry but no matter what she ate, the pit in her stomach only seemed to grow. She was terrified. Her friends definitely noticed her sudden change but any time they asked her about it, Cassidy just brushed them off. She bit her scabbed-over lip, chewing it until she tasted blood.
"Are you sure you're alright?" Grace asked, concerned. "You might still be sick."
"I'm fine," Cassidy snapped. Hearing a buzz, Cassidy checked her phone and was elated to find a new text. *Meet us @ the tracks in 10 min*
Cassidy smiled even though she felt no better. She looked up, "I'm going to have to skip going to the movies. You're right, Grace, I might still be sick. Let me drop you off." Cassidy sped to the movie theater and her friends reluctantly exited the car. Shooting them a quick apology, Cassidy immediately set off towards the railroad tracks. She was surprised at her eagerness to get there, considering how fast she tried to get away from them at first. Maybe they did something to me. Cassidy contemplated turning around and going home but she realized she was already there. She stopped in front of the two boys and got out, allowing them to take in her appearance.
