008. Late night reflections
╚ ═════════════. .★.╝It was currently 12 o'clock, exactly 3 hours after the boys had promised Julie to be there. It was safe to say the performance was cancelled.
"Thanks to nick we fixed the machine, but we can't seem to get a hold of the guys. You know, WiFi." Julie explained to the crowd.
"Does someone know the Heimlich? Julies chocking." Carrie exclaimed earning a glare from Naomi.
Half an hour later and everyone had left. Leaving only Julie, Flynn and Naomi. After Flynn had left the gym to get ice cream from the cafeteria. The boys finally showed up.
"Hey Julie! We're ready to Rock this dance- which is clearly......over?" Luke said. An outraged Julie immediately made her way to the boys.
Naomi decided it was best to stay seated. It was not her argument. In the distant she could hear Julie lecturing them about bands and friends.
After a while Julie stormed out of the gym an Alex and Reggie poofed out, leaving only Luke and Naomi.
"What do you want." Naomi muttered.
"To talk to you."
"About what?"
"Anything."
Naomi stared into his eyes and decided to give in. "Fine, you go first."
Naomi had thought it was going to be small talk, or about music. But she was very wrong. Luke immediately told Naomi about his mom.
It broke her heart to hear him tell the story about how he ran out and regretted it. After a few seconds of comfortable silence, Luke spoke up again.
"So I told you all about me, your turn." He almost smirked, making Naomi roll her eyes.
She started off easily with her parents divorce and then got into how she and her mom fought constantly and how she barely saw her dad. She also told him about the bad habits she picked up after all of this.
She didn't know why but venting to Luke felt good, she almost never talked about any of this stuff. While she was ranting on and on about her life he didn't interrupt once, he just stared at her and listened.
It was now probably an hour later and Luke and Naomi were still at the gym.
"I should probably go before my mom gets worried." She almost whispered.
Nodding in understatement. Luke stood up and waved her goodbye before poofing out. Naomi walked back home with her AirPods in, blasting her music.
When she finally got home, she went into her attic and grabbed her old photo books. Her dad had always enjoyed taking pictures.
After she grabbed all the books and got comfortable in her bed, she started to flip through them. Every now and then finding a picture of her parents while still together.
One picture had a little not under it. It said 'happy family'. Naomi felt tears in her eyes. Naomi never understood why her parents divorced, in her eyes, they were happy.
That was until one day the told her they were getting a divorce. Not even three days later, her dad moved out. Naomi didn't speak to anyone for a week.
Everybody knew that Naomi had always been a daddy's girl. She was like the female version of her dad. Which was why she took the divorce so bad.
She used to be around her dad 24/7, they cooked, cleaned and listened to music together. Her dad was her rock. He knew every little thing about her and could read her like an open book.
Naomi is at her moms for 3/4 of her life. Her dad is incredibly busy with work so as much as he'd like to, he can't see his children as often as he wants.
After finally closing the photo books Naomi told herself to go to sleep. Tomorrow would be a new day. But most importantly, at the end of this week, she was finally seeing her dad again.
