It was a few days after the final exams and before the end of the semester. Everyone was excited for our summer training trip. I was still in disbelief I had achieved Perfect Beast Mode. I was still trying to master the form. It didn't immediately take a toll on me, but once I reverted back, it caught up with me, leaving me pretty tired.

We were all chatting among ourselves when Aizawa came in. After everyone took their seats, he announced the location for our trip had been changed and that we wouldn't be informed of the location until the last minute. This was a precaution in case The League of Villains decided to launch an attack on us.

Meanwhile, things were going as usual for me. All Might was helping me get everything I'd need for the trip. One day, he asked me to sit down with him, saying he had something important to tell me. "Naomasa found out some information about your mother. I'm afraid to say that she's dead. She was killed years ago, but they must've repressed your memories of the incident. I'm sorry. Your father is also deceased. He was actually a good friend of mine, a pro hero named Voltage. He lost his life saving civilians from a dangerous villain." he told me. I couldn't believe what I'd just heard. Both my parents were dead? "What about the rest of my family?" I asked him.

"I'm afraid that as far as we know, you don't have any family we can contact. I'm sorry." he told me. So this was it, I was alone. I had no family left. "But, I do have some good news for you." he told me. "What's that?" I ask. "Thanks to Naomasa's help, I've adopted you. I understand this may seem a little out of the blue but-" he didn't get to finish as I hugged him. "Thank you All Might." I say. He hugged me back. "You're welcome, son." he said.

I don't know why, but hearing him call me that made me feel, happy. That's the only way I could describe it. I asked him if he could tell me more about my birth father. He told me stories about my father, which ranged from heroic to slightly embarrassing. He told me I reminded him of my father. I decided this was just one more motivation to become a hero, to make my father proud, both my birth father, and my adopted father.

We had agreed that, at least for now, it would be better to keep the adoption a secret. School progressed as normal, and the day of the trip arrived soon. We board a bus and Aizawa tells us the bus will be stopping every hour for a restroom break. I was one of the few who was actually paying attention to the man. Most everyone else was busy fooling around. Personally, I didn't see why they were so excited about summer break.

Though this might be due in part to the fact that I've hardly had a day of rest in my entire life. I know that sounds horrible, but I had just gotten used to it. I didn't like to sit around doing nothing.

I had brought a book to read on the way, The Fault in Our Stars. So far, I loved the book. An hour later, we stop for a bathroom break. I put my bookmark in place and get up. I looked around and noticed class 1 B wasn't with us as they had been when we departed the school.

Then, two females wearing cat costumes and a small boy appear. The females introduce themselves as members of the pro hero team The Pussycats. The brown haired female explains that we'll be staying at the base of the mountain nearby, and that we have until 12:30 to get there, giving us 3 hours. If we fail to reach the base by then, we won't be served lunch. Wouldn't exactly call it high stakes, but it sure motivated everyone.

We would have to traverse a forest that was called The Beast's Forest. We were allowed to use our quirks any way we saw fit. Some of the students attempt to make a break for the bus, but one of the females activates her quirk, creating a landslide pushing us into the forest. "Is everyone all right?" I call out, checking on everyone's well being. Once we were sure everyone was alright, we began heading through the forest.
