Chapter 16: Happy Returns

(Y/N)'s POV)

I woke up in the hospital, with All Might beside my bed in his normal form. "I'm glad you're alright," he says. "What happened?" I ask, still feeling drained. You passed out after we rescued you. We brought you to the hospital to ensure you were okay," he tells me. "So it's over?" I ask.

"Yes, and I have more good news, the police have apprehended All for One. He's in prison." he tells me. I couldn't believe what I'd heard. "What about the League of Villains?" I asked. "I'm afraid they're still out there." he tells me. So much for all my problems with them being over.

Naomasa then walked in. "Glad to see you're awake," he says. "It's good to be back," I tell him. "I need to ask you a few questions. What do you remember?" he asks me as he pulls out a pad of paper and a pencil.

"I woke up strapped down to some kind of examination table in their lair. Shigaraki had members of the League hold me down while he injected a red liquid in my arm. It hurt for a while, but after it stopped hurting, I couldn't help but do what they said or answer any questions they had." I tell him.

"What did you tell them?" he asks me. "I told them about All Might's condition, and how he passed One for All to Midoriya." I said. "I see. Do you remember anything about the League members? Can you tell me what their quirks are?" he asked me. I went on to explain each of the league member's quirks, along with their weaknesses.

"Thank you, I'll leave you both alone for now," he says as he gets up and leaves. I turn to All Might and ask "Are you okay?" "I'm just fine. To be honest, I'm glad All for One gave you Overclock. Now it can be used for good again. In fact, I've contacted its previous owner, and he says he'd like to meet you and help you perfect the ability," he says.

"Does the class know about all this?" I ask. "I'm afraid the helicopter was broadcasting a live feed," he tells me. "Great, so now the whole public is going to be against me," I say. "Actually, I hadn't told you this, but Naomasa raided their base and found that serum they used on you, so we have a chance to clear your name." he tells me.

"How did they find the base?" I ask. "Your classmate Yaoyorozu had placed a tracking device on you before you were separated in the forest. We were able to use it to find their base. We were actually planning a rescue mission when you hijacked the press conference signal." he told me.

"Dad, there's something that's been bothering me," I tell him. "What is it?" he asks. "While I agree that their methods were terrible, I think the motivations behind the League's and Stain's actions were right," I say. "What do you mean?" he asks me.

"A lot of people are shunned from society because they have unusual quirks, and a lot of heroes are more focused on fame and money then helping people. What if Stain was right and our current society is flawed?" I asked. "I guess maybe he has a point." he says.

"I admit that not everyone in this world gets a fair chance, and there are heroes who care too much about fame. But that just means we need to work harder." he says. "You shouldn't think lowly of yourself for thinking that, and I know you wouldn't do the same things as the Hero Killer or the League of Villains. And I can tell you're going to be a hero who truly cares about the citizens he protects. I'm certain that one day, you'll be worthy of the name 'Hero'," he tells me with a smile on his face.

I sit back and think about what he just said. To be honest, I guess I really needed to hear that. "There's something I need to tell you," he says. "What is it?" I ask. "I'm going to be retiring as the number 1 hero," he says. "Why?" I ask him. "Since the League knows about One for All residing in young Midoriya, I need to devote my time to training him to use One for All properly." he tells me. That made sense, but I still couldn't believe it was my fault he was retiring.
