(Friday, 1 week till the Fall Formal)
Rainbow's ego wouldn't let her admit this but, she was starting to worry about Fluttershy. Sure, she didn't seem too off the day before, but Rainbow could tell her mind was a bit...occupied with something else. The thought of asking her too much was honestly nerve wracking. She knew it most likely had nothing to do with their relationship, but that didn't matter, because there was always a possibility. Lately, Fluttershy seemed to be avoiding the fact that Rainbow hasn't been over at her place in a while. Like...almost a month. She figured that maybe Fluttershy just didn't have time, or that she was afraid of her family growing suspicious if Rainbow were to visit so often. But the thing is; they were family friends. They're no strangers to practically living in each other's homes since they were young. This is what confused Rainbow the most. Even though it was tempting, she made it punctuate that this was not something to gawk over all day. The girls had agreed to have a sleepover at Pinkie's tonight, so at least there was something to look forward to.
Walking through the crowded halls of CHS, all Rainbow wanted to do was run. All these people were being so slow, and it ticked her off. She clenched the straps of her bag tighter as she heard arguments left and right. The seniors were especially riled up today, seeming as the Fall Formal was approaching in only a week. The way some of Rainbow's peers fought almost reminded her of when they were all under the influence of the Dazzling's magic during the Battle of the Bands. That was a while ago. The only difference here was that they were clearly their humane selves, no green smoke, no physical fighting, just nagging and plain old bickering. Nonetheless, it still annoyed Rainbow to pieces. If this continued, Rainbow considered changing that "no physical fighting" part of the whole situation. Something she also noticed was the underclassmen, who seemed pretty...salty. Some of the girls on the soccer team have been giving Rainbow weird looks ever since the Fall Formal was announced. That was a whole mystery of its own that, frankly, Rainbow couldn't care less about. She had better things to think about, like how she only had an hour left until this unbearably slow day was over.
A shorter girl with choppy pink hair and wide eyes ran up to Rainbow as fast as she could. She panted from her running as she joined Rainbow at her side.
"Hey squirt." Rainbow ruffled Scootaloo's messy hair.
"Hey sis!" Scootaloo beamed up at her.
"Where're ya headed?" Rainbow asked with a slight smile.
"Mr. Doodle." Scootaloo said unenthusiastically, "You?"
"Yikes, sucks for you," Rainbow cringed, "I've got a free."
"You're so lucky," Scootaloo did one of her little frustration hops, "when do I get frees?"
"Depends on how awesome you are." Rainbow shrugged.
"Hmm." Scootaloo hummed, looking down at the floor as she walked.
"I'm gonna hit the field to get some air," Rainbow said, "you can ditch if you want."
Scootaloo gasped, "Are you for real?"
"No, I was messin' with you," Rainbow chuckled, "Mom and Dad would totally blame me for it, so it's a no."
"Well you suggested it." Scootaloo sounded disappointed.
"And I'm telling you to forget about it, 'cause it ain't happening." Rainbow said.
"Fine..." Scootaloo pouted.
"Get to class, champ," Rainbow ordered, "we passed all the other staircases. I'll see you in an hour, kay?"
