Floorboards. Wooden floorboards? They squeaked and groaned, as the world shook. Stomping stung Applejack's ears as it grew closer. Her eyes remained shut, for she wasn't yet awake. Suddenly, the stomping stopped, and the floorboards silenced. Applejack's mind relaxed, as it considered falling unconscious once more. That option was quickly thrown out the window once she felt an immediate jolt. Something forced itself onto Applejack's stomach, causing her to rise and open her eyes widely, followed by a yelp.
"APPLEJACK, WAKE UP!" a familiar voice yelled as Applejack fell back onto her pillow, looking up at the ceiling.
The voice owner climbed on top of Applejack until her whole face filled her view. It was Apple Bloom, Applejack's younger sister. Her eyes were wide and full of impatience, though her lids were covered by vibrant, red bangs. Apple Bloom's large, pink bow flopped over her head as it was lowered. The younger girl reached for Applejack's hat, tipping it over her face, she let it fly back up, smacking her in the forehead.
"Ow!" was all Applejack could let out as a flash of pain released from her forehead.
She put a hand over where the hat had hit her, pushing Apple Bloom away in the process.
"Let's go!" Apple Bloom shook her sister eagerly, "We've got jam remember?!"
"Alright, alright," Applejack rose up from her pillow once more, "but you better eat fast, ya hear, we've got school in less than an hour."
"Sure!" Apple Bloom agreed, "Now come on! I wanna get to school early!"
Applejack rubbed her eyes, "Now why is that, may Ah ask?"
Apple Bloom hesitated, "Uh-top-secret CMC meeting! Study group."
"Is it 'top secret' or a study group?" Applejack said drowsily.
"Uhh-" Apple Bloom looked down, "both!"
Applejack knew her sister too well to know that she was definitely making this up. She also knew not to push it, so she said:
"Well, alright then," Applejack smiled, "we'd best be gettin' washed up now don't ya think?"
"Yeah," Apple Bloom practically fell off Applejack's bed getting off, "see ya downstairs sis!"
"You be careful now," Applejack shouted after her as she stumbled to her room.
How does that girl have so much spunk in the morning?
Applejack understood Apple Bloom's enthusiasm over the apple jam. It really was good, especially on Granny Smith's pancakes. Applejack checked her watch to see that classes started in 20 minutes.
"Aw shoot!" Applejack rose from her seat, grabbing her backpack from the floor, "Apple Bloom! Let's get goin'!"
Apple Bloom was in the middle of shoving pancakes in her face when she said, "Yeah yeah, awright !"
Applejack marched around the kitchen table and grabbed the back of Apple Bloom's chair, pulling it forcefully out. Her sister only groaned, getting up and grabbing her book bag.
"Ah was gonna finish those." Apple Bloom mumbled as they walked to the door.
"Bye ya'll!" Applejack waved to Big Mac and Granny Smith whilst holding the door open.
