The square room was completely black. A skylight at the top let in the sunlight to fill the room. The sunlight hit the center of the room, directly on the summoning circle.
The circle was in the center of the room. It was a menacing design that always made a chill ride down my spine. I would rather have never seen it with my own eyes. This was the only way to stop the tragedy that occurs every 60 years though. And if I could stop this, then every mage in the world could be put at ease. Every innocent doomed to fall victim to the war could be saved. And for once in my life, I could feel like magic is more of a blessing than a curse.
The item tht I would use as the catalyst was a wooden carving of my family's crest, a horse with wings. It was very dear to my mother, she had gotten it when she and my dad were out about the world. They traveled the globe together, and a dear friend of theirs out in Egypt carved this for them. I was hoping to travel too someday. That is, until I was chosen to go fight for a stupid grail.
I was forced to read a lot growing up, not usually what I wanted to read about though. But I researched the holy grail incantations in extreme detail, until I found one tht I liked. What I chose took forever to find. It was an ancient chant connected to the ancient hero servants themselves.
I slowly walked to the circle, a thousand emotions were ravaging me at once. I took the ceremonial knife off of the table and continued. I was afraid of what would pop up. I was angry because if what I'd have to do with what pops up. I wondered if this was going to end up good or bad. I was just in front of the circle now. Most of all though, I had hope. Hope that I could stop this war. Hope that I could save lives, hope that I could make my parents proud, and hope that my determination would find success.
I stepped over the circle and poked the center of my hand with the knife. The blood trickled to the ground.
"Let silver and steel be the essence." I started chanting the incantation, as the blood started to fill the circle.
"Let stone and the archduke of contracts be the foundation." Crimson lit up the room. The circle began to radiate energy that filled every part of my body.
"Let red be the color I pay tribute to. Let rise a wall against the wind that will fall. Let the four cardinal gates close. Let the three-forked road from the crown reaching unto the kingdom rotate." I felt like the room was about to explode in energy.
"Let it be filled. Again. Again. Again. Again. Let it be filled five fold for every turn. Simply breaking asunder with every filling. I beckon the hero waiting for me to come to my side, and close the void that is tearing the world apart." I finished the chant with my own little touch at the end.
Complete silence followed. Then a little Clink. Clink, clink. Like the sound of coins. Then more clinks and more and more until a huge flurry of coins just appeared and went flying around the room. I jumped back. The coins formed a huge tornado moving around the circle. Then in a blinding flash of light they disappeared.
I was left shell shocked, blinking for a few moments until a could see again. What I saw blew my mind, a tall lean man with brown curly hair and a handsome face.
"Hey kid, guess you didn't expect Robin Hood did ya?"
