It was no different than any other day.

He was busy with back to back meetings and finalizing various deals.

It was 8 in the night and he was still working. His phone kept ringing and he ignored it. His mother was calling him to come home which he was postponing from months.

But today she was very much persistent to make him come home.

He sighed and looked at his phone which has so many missed calls from his mother and 1 missed call from his father.

He was surprised at this.

His father didn't talk to him much since Aadhya left, he would just nod or talk two to three words of only if it's necessary. He never saw his father so sad and defeated but now looking at him like that makes him feel guilty.

He felt responsible for his father's state.

He decided he would go there and meet them.

He has already too many regrets and he doesn't want to add anymore.

He picked up his coat and walked out of his office.

He reached their mansion in no time and walked inside preparing himself for the lecture his mother would give him.

He stepped inside to feel only silence.

He further went inside and saw his mother sitting on the dining table lonely.

" Mom." He called and she snapped her head towards him.

" Rishi you came!" She exclaimed and hugged him.

" Why don't you come home at all nowadays?" She asked and he stayed silent.

" I know you are angry on me for thinking to announce your engagement in that party that day." She said looking down.

" I am sorry beta....I just thought you would be okay with it since you agreed to date Neetha and you both were friends since childhood, I thought you both just needed a push but I didn't think that it would hurt you so much.....I am so sorry." She said with tears.

He was stunned as his mother never apologises to anyone.

" It's okay Mom.....but please understand that I just see her as a friend and I don't like her, Please don't look for any alliances also because I am not ready for marriage.....atleast not now." He said slowly to make her understand and she nodded her head.

He smiled and she hugged him.

" Rishi, I am worried about your father beta. He is not being himself, I never saw him like this in my whole life. Did something happened beta?" She asked him.

Rishabh looked down guiltily.

" Where is he?" He asked her.

" In the study." She told him.

" Okay.....I will go and talk to him." He said and walked towards their study.

He knocked on the door and opened it. He saw his father sitting on the chair reading a book and he called him to gain his attention.

His father looked up at him but didn't say anything.

" Why did you call me on my phone dad?" He asked.

" To ask you to come home and talk to your mother." He said.

" I talked to her." He said.

There was silence between them.
