Spongebob POV

I pushed open the door to my job as a cook at a restaurant. I couldn't stop smiling because this Friday was the day I earned enough money for a special surprise for my friend. I hope she likes it... I pulled out my phone and dialed her number. "Hey dora," I said after she answered on the first ring. "Hey Bob," she said laughing. She liked to call me Bob sometimes. "What's so funny?" I asked.

"Nothing" she said, "what's up?"

"I have a surprise for you but you won't see it until later," I told her, not able to wipe the smile off my face.

"Really? What is it?" She asked with a hint of excitement in her voice.

"You have to wait and see" I told her. "See you later."

"I hate you." She hung up and I started laughing. I took a cab, since I hadn't learned how to drive yet, to my house and ordered 2 tickets to China. Jeez this is expensive. But it'll be so worth it.

         ~~~~~TIME SKIP~~~~~

  I knocked on the door to Dora's house with the tickets in my pocket. She opened the door and waved to me. I stepped inside and said, "Well..I guess I'll show you your surprise." I pulled the tickets out of my pocket and put one in her hand. "You better start learning Chinese!" I said smiling slightly. Her jaw dropped and she just stared at the plane ticket. "Y..you didn't have to..you.." She said trying to say something. I hugged her. "I knew how much you wanted to go to China."

"I love you so much" she said.

"Me too," I said. We always said that as friends.

"No, I'm serious," she said. "I really do love you." She said in a voice just above a whisper. Now it was my turn to be speechless. "Will you be my boyfriend?" She asked. I kissed her for her answer.

Only for you. This was so awkward.
