Chapter 7

Alaya's POV
"I am confused how did you survive?" I ask. I mean everything was destroyed.
"I survives on scraps. Canned food, cockroaches, anything I could find." Poor five was clutching on his coffee cup reliving the whole thing.

"Oh- I'm sorry..." I was speechless but his survival skills were quite impressive.
"You know that rumour that twinkies have endless shelf life?" He chuckled. Vanya leant forward still contemplating what five as just told her.
"Well it's total bullshit." I chuckled a little bit the mood changed straight away as she was reminded about the apocalypse.

"I can't even imagine." Vanya and I felt really sorry for five. " you would do whatever it takes to survive ... or die. So we adapt." I was confused when five said we I mean who was he referring to? Was there someone with him in the apocalypse?
I was so lost in my thought I wasn't even listening. I snapped back when five asked for something stronger that coffee.

Vanya's go up to get some alcohol for five. Five start to chug the drink I could definitely tell that he was stressed but what I didn't k ow was that I was staring at five like he was crazy. He turn around and saw me staring.
"What? You think I'm crazy?" I shook my head. I really didn't know how to feel I mean I just found out I have eight more days to live.

"No. No it's just... a lot to take in." I said stammering. Vanya's was also confused and shocked.
"Exactly what do t you understand?"
"Why didn't you just time travel back" vanya asks. "Gee, wish I'd thought of that?" He scoffed.
"Hey she doesn't know ok no need to act like that." I said to five. Vanya has no knowledge of time travel and five just expects her to know.

"Time travel is a crapshoot. I went into the ice and never acorn- ed." He repeated his father's words. "You didn't think i didn't try everything get back to my family?" Five says in a low voice.
"If you grew old there how come you still look like a kid?" Vanya asks which also triggered my question.
"And why do I look like a 13 year old too ?I didn't time travel with you?" I asked confused.
"I told you already." He scoffed and turns to look at me and vanya.

"I must have gotten the equations wrong and somehow messed with alaya too." I was starting to get anxious lots of things are being thrown at me all at once. I was to focused on myself trying in to break down.
"Uhm. Vanya can I use you bathroom?" I didn't even wait for an answer and ran to the toilet.
Tears were running down my eyes. I was having another one of my panic attacks but this time nobody was here to help me.

I got up and washed my face with cold water hoping it would help. I hear knocking on the door. It was five. "Are you ok?" He saw my red eyes. I had to come up with an excuse because he had more important things to deal with.
"Yeh I'm fine just hay fever. You know pollen... allergies-" I felt kind of bad for lying. " ok I get it." We both walk back out.
"I mean dad always said that time travel could mess up your mind. Well maybe that's what's happening." Five put his cup down. "This was a mistake." Five grabbed my hand. "Uh were are we going?"
"Your too young too naive to understand." We both stared to walk out of Vanya's apartment.
"No. Five... five wait." He stopped an turns around to look and vanya. He let goes of my hand.

" I haven't seen you two in a long time, and I don't want to lose you again. That's all" I looked at vanya and saw the fear of losing five again in her eyes.
"And you know what, it's getting late, and I have lessons early, and I need sleep, and I'm sure you two do." Vanya places the blacker on the stretched out couch getting it ready for us to sleep on... we'll talk in the morning again. Okay? I promise." I walked towards the couch and looks at vanya. "Thanks" both five and I said at the same time. "Night" vanya walks of. I sat down and so did five next to me. He was playing with this eyeball which I found disgusting.

"Ew what the- is that an eye?" I look and him in disgust. " yep found Luther holding this in his hand. It might be a clue for who ends the world of and it's fake don't worry." I nodded and I payed down started to feel sleepy.

" we have to go" five said getting up. I made him sit back down with my mind. "Nope your sleeping and vanya is right you probably exhausted." I was starting to doze off and five had fell asleep. Not know what he was doing. He wrapped his arm around me tightly.
