The forgotten ones

On the 12th hour of the first day of October 1989, 43 women around the world gave birth, this was unusual only in the fact that none of these women had been pregnant when the day first began. Sir Reginald Hargreeves an eccentric billionaire and adventurer resolved to locate and adopt as many of these children as possible...

Athena bloom, just a normal woman. She loved going to work, helping people in need, baking and eating chocolate. She didn't plan on having kids or even a boyfriend Or husband any time soon. 

1st October 1989 ~
Athena got up for work, at precisely 6.10am, when the beeping or her allarm went off, she happily skipped down stairs into her small and crapmed kitchen and made herself a coffee. Prancing out of the kitchen happily, she drank her coffe and picked up her clean clothes. She merrily skipped up the stairs into her bedroom. Walking over to her bedroom window and pulling open the curtains to look at her view, she smiled and laughed,  no one knew why because her view was of a dirty city and a block of flats, she could see no sunlight, or happy things, just dirt and sadness. Her neighbours often asked her why she was so happy all the time, she allways had the same reply "because I chose to be" then happily pranced off into the distance. Athena got dressed and drank the rest of her sweet coffee. Merrily dancing down her stairs, picking up the keys and opening the door. Suddenly her face changed drasticly, such a happy and extatic smile to a depressed and pained frown. Athena thought to herself just a stomach ache, and prancing down towards the train station another pain struck her, the same frown came again, she quickly put back her smile and said to herself "it's only a stomach ache. You're fine Athena, today is YOU'RE  big day, a chance to impress the directors. "  Happily skipping through the depressed, dirty town, putting a smile on everyones  faces, bringing a light where ever she went, almost like magic...

But no. Magic was impossible. IMPOSSIBLE. NO one could ever be magical, there is no scientific evidence. Athena got to work after a short journey on the dirty,crowded,depressed underground. 3 stops and she was here, The doors squeeked open and Athena jumped out of the doors merrily skipping up the dirty, mucky, and dark stairs... 

When Athena eventually got to work she walked into the board room, where there were 11 seats placed along a long brown table. The director front and centre, head of the table of course. 10 serious looking people were sat at the table. All were sad and filled the room with gloom. Athena stood up ready to give her presentation, as she stood up her smile drastically changed to a frown, a pained frown. She brushed it off and started to give her presentation. One of the members of the board noticed a strange and peculiar thing, a baby bump, this baby bump had not been present when the meeting first began. It started to grow, making Athena frown in pain. One of the members of the board stood up and ran over to Athena catching her as she fainted. The next thing Athena knew was waking up in an ambulance, wires, oxegen tubes, and cords attached to her. Athena had no idea what was going on, she fainted again, and woke up in a hospital bed with 2 healthy babies, 1 boy and 1 girl. Twins. The hospital doors swung open as a well presented man slowly paced In. "How much do you want for them?" The mysteriouse man said in an angry tone of voice. "W...wha..t?" Athena shakily whispered."The children! Name you're price" the man said argumentitively. Athenas colleague butted in "2 million" he said quickly and eagerly. "Done" the man said happily. "Undone" shouted Athena, "DONE" Athenas colleague shouted angrily. "I am Sir Reginald Hargreeves and I thank you for you're generosity." Athena eventually agreed after a lot of persuasion. She kissed them goodbye and waved as Reginald took them in his arms and swiftly walked out. Tears started to form in Athenas eyes, her oxygen levels drastically went down, her once happy now heavy heart began to fade out. The nurses rushed over, they tried their best to save her, but it was too late. She was gone. Athenas colleague started to cry, he secretly loved her and now would never get to forfill his life dreams. His dreams, plans, hopes for the future were gone, just like Athena. The nurses promptly moved Mr Michael out of the room. A blue scratchy blanket was covering Athena when they wheeled her body away. She never had any family or friends, yet, she was happy and wanted to make others happy too. Reginald Hargreeves heard about her death. On the day of her funeral, it was a rainy,gloomy and cloudy. Regginald mourned her death. Many saw Reginald walk over to her oakwood coffin, he bowed down and thanked her. Then he was gone. He disappeared went missing almost. Only a few knew the real truth. He wasn't seen for 13 years until one day 13 years later a bank robbery occoured...
