"W-wait a minute. D-drew who can give a record deal? As in Drew Steves? As in owner of Gold Star Records?!"
"The one and only." Drew said smiling.
This has been something I have been waiting for for I don't even know how many years and now it's all finally happening and it's all happening so fast. The world seemed to suddenly start rapidly spinng, and that's when I fainted. Luckily, I felt someone's strong arms catch me before I became unconscious and hit the ground, that would've hurt to wake up to.
When I did finally wake up, I heard Miles say, "Oh thank God, she's not dead." with a chuckle.
"Ugh what happened?" I groaned realizing I was laying on my couch in my living room, and that's when it all suddenly hit me.
"I offered you your dream and you fainted." Drew said with a casual smile.
"Don't worry, you were only out for fifteen minutes, we haven't been waiting long..." Miles added reading my mind.
I then realized I was still in my hideous Target uniform and then said, "I'm going to go change, I'll be right back."
I then ran upstairs, pulled on a teal shirt that has a pretty lace pattern running along the bottom, threw on a black leather jacket and white jeans with my black combat boots. Thankfully, I had already french braided my hair and put on light makeup this morning so I at least didn't have to deal with that and was back downstairs within five minutes.
As I came down the stairs I heard a faint "Wow, she's even more attractive. How is that even possible?" from Miles, but pretended I didn't hear it.
"Wow that was surprisingly quick for a female getting ready." Drew joked.
"What can I say? I don't like to keep people waiting. I just really couldn't stand that hideous uniform. Now uhm Drew if you don't mind I'd like just one moment to talk to Miles for a second in private."
"You kids take all the time you need." Drew said with a wink to which I blushed and just rolled my eyes.
I then pulled Miles by the wrist out the front door so we were back outside where we started.
"Ok as flattered as I am and as thrilled as I am to be offered a record deal by the number one record label in the country, I want it on my own merit, not because it's a personal favour to you as a family friend." I flatly stated, getting right to the point.
"It's not a family favour to me. I uhm kinda recorded you ever time you sang the other day and you didn't know because you always close your eyes, but your voice was so amazing, I knew I would want to listen back to the songs later so I recorded you." then he added with a slight blush, "When I got home, I couldn't stop thinking about you so I was listening to the recording, but I forgot Drew was coming over for dinner and when he came into my room to get me, he was instantly paralyzed by your voice and mesmerized by you. He claimed that he's never seen more talent flowing from an individual before and he made me swear to introduce you two as soon as possible. He then stole my phone and listened to every single recording and was giddy with joy at the thought of you getting to sign with his label."
"Ok but I thought you hate your record label because they force you to sing a sound that isn't yours so why should I sign with him, wouldn't he force me to do the same thing?"
"Honey, you ain't the only one to want to get a record deal on your own merit. I refused to sign with Drew because I didn't want him signing me simply as a family favour so I got a deal with a different label. Drew will never ever make you change your sound, he thinks you're absolutely flawless as you are. If you want a record deal as badly as you say you do, there is no one better to sign with than Drew."
