Michael Andrews was rubbing his face before looking at the agents before him.

"Mr. Andrews," Jennifer spoke carefully while leading him to sit down on his couch. "We were hoping that you could answer a few questions for us."

Derek sat across from Michael. For the father, it was a comfort to see the family friend who also became the godfather of Genevieve.

"All I know is that Genevieve left this morning, early, to head to the barn. She had made plans to have brunch or lunch with her friends later," he looked over to Derek for some comfort. "You remember them? Melanie, Natalia, Jesse, Brett, and Aaron?"

Derek nodded his head before leaning forward. His elbows were resting on his knees. "You said that she never showed up at the barn,"

Michael nodded his head. "It was starting to get late and I hadn't heard from her since this morning. I called the barn and Nick had told me that she never showed up. That's when I started to worry more and called Genevieve's phone, but she never picked up."

He didn't want to imagine the images going through his head, but it couldn't be helped. Whether it was Genevieve tied up somewhere covered in dirt, mud, and blood or her naked bloody body dumped somewhere where it might never be found. Michael Andrews was starting to imagine the feelings of the families that Genevieve would speak to whenever she traveled for a case.

"Please, she has to be alive," the man started to beg the agents. "She's all I have left for a family." His throat began to thicken. Like he was getting close to crying in front of these agents. "She's my daughter-"

"And Genevieve is a fighter, Mr. Andrews," JJ assured the father before looking over to Morgan.

"Just try and get some sleep, Mike," Morgan told his friend while standing up. "Jennifer and I will be going back to our team. You have my number if you hear anything from Genevieve."

"And you'll let me know if you find anything?"

Derek nodded his head before letting himself out with JJ following behind him.

"What did he mean that Genevieve was the only family he had left?" She asked her partner as they walked towards the elevator of the apartment building.

"Mike's wife left him and Genevieve because of her job. She was a dedicated lawyer from what he told me. Missed school events and horse shows, both were important for Genevieve." Morgan had explained while they waited for the elevator. "The two got fine on their own. Her friends practically became part of their own family. I remember the five of them rushed over here when they heard that I was in town. Might as well been their Uncle Derek Morgan as well."

JJ took notice of the grimace on his face. "How are you holding up?"

This was his goddaughter after all. He had gone to the school events and horse shows when he could. Supported the girl with everything that she wanted to do. Even help plan the party of her getting placed on his own team.

"Just hoping that Gen is fighting for survival," Morgan told JJ before entering the elevators which doors had just opened.

Genevieve's mouth was dry. She didn't know what time it was or if it was still the same day. She rested her head against the beam that she was tied to. Genevieve heard shuffling and dragging of fabric.

"Close your eyes!" There was a click that followed the shout. Genevieve associated the sound with a gun. Survival instincts took over and she immediately squeezed her eyes shut. More shuffling and dragging followed. Warm breath suddenly fanned over her face and an unfamiliar, yet faintly familiar scent filled her.

"Count to a hundred and then you can open your eyes."

And Genevieve did just that. Mentally counting to a hundred.

'98, 99, 100.' Genevieve opened her eyes. She could barely see while her eyes adjusted to the sudden change in lighting. She scanned the room again, wondering what was brought in. Her eyes landed on two familiar bodies.

"Brett? Jesse?" Genevieve called out just beyond a whisper. There was no movement or sounds that came from them. She could only hope that her old friends were alive. Just as she thought all hope left her, a groan came from what seemed to be Brett.

"Argh," the man groaned as he carefully sat up. "Genevieve? Is that you?"

"Yeah and I'm glad to see that you're alright."

"More the most part," Brett went to move his arms but was taken aback by the clanking behind him. "Jesse," Brett nudged the boy next to him with his foot.

A groan came from Jesse before he lifted his head up. He looked around surprised to see both Genevieve and Brett. "I understand whatever happened to get me here happened to me, but how did it happen to the FBI agent and the football player?"

"Ever heard of taken by surprise?" Brett questioned while the other boy struggled to sit up. "How long have you been here?" They both looked to Genevieve.

"I don't know," she told them. There was no window or clock. She too remembered everything becoming fuzzy before going black. "I don't even know where here is."

"Well, considering that it'll be three of us that aren't present for tomorrow's lunch, someone will bound to notify people," Jesse stated.

Genevieve looked between the two boys. "What about brunch this morning? Did that not happen?"

Brett shook his head. "Natalia's flight from Paris got delayed. Everyone agreed to move it to tomorrow and make it lunch. Except three of us won't make it to lunch."

Genevieve licked her lips. She needed something to hang on to. "My dad must've called around when I didn't come home."

"Can easily pass it off as you spend the night at one of our hotel rooms and didn't tell him." Jesse countered.

Genevieve shook her head. "He would've called Morgan-"

"Uncle Derek Morgan to rescue." One of the boys muttered.

"-and Spencer would be worried too. Would force an investigation."

"Spencer?"

"Is this Spencer a boyfriend?"

At this moment where she was supposed to be worried for her life and the life of her friends, Genevieve couldn't help but laugh at the two questions. It truly felt like they were back in high school briefly.

"Yes, he is. He was going to come to the ceremony and meet all of you guys." But now, that doesn't seem like it would be happening at all.

"Like you said Jesse," Brett spoke up after a few minutes of silence. "We have an FBI agent with us. We are definitely going to be found."
