CHAPTER 14

HANABI

"How was your first day, Karna?" I asked them as we all flumped down into the couch.

"Atrocious," Zodiac uttered wearily.

Well, she's the most affected to what happened.

Katana spoke. "I don't know what's going on ng time na 'yon. Basta alam ko, kakain lang ako ng food then iinom ng water that time when the girl smacked my fucking arm. Bawal ba uminom ng water, ha?" She exclaimed. I just closed my eyes and sighed.

Arzana laughed. "Kung dala ko lang yung laptop ko no'n, siguradong sa ospital yung punta nung sumira sa salamin ko," she said as she shook her head.

"Ang nice naman nating makitungo sa mga students do'n, diba? Ang hindi ko lang maintindihan e, bakit kailangan nilang gumawa ng gulo kung pwede naman makipag-usap ng maayos," Mayaka blunted. I just smirked for she's really fluent speaking the language.

"That's the point. Maybe, they want a fucking show in public and luckily, we were the one they saw. Pretty faces but their fucking attitude are dross.. yuck," Katana said, rolling her eyes.

Arzana was playing the joystick simulator on the table and spoke. "Ano ba talaga ang nangyari, Zodiac? Ikaw kasi 'yong pinupuntirya ng mga babaeng iyon e. Alam mo namang kapag ikaw na ang pinag-uusapan talagang dawit at masasali dapat kami. Kasi... ikaw 'yan," Arzana said as she looked away. I am just silently watching Zodiac as she played with her fingers.

Zodiac looked at us. "Are you tired dealing with me, Karna?"

And that made us all look at her. What the fuck she's saying?

Mayaka stood up and ambled to where Zodiac is. She pulled Zodiac into a hug as she ruffled the kid's hair. "Wala naman kaming sinabing ganoon, ha? Hindi kami mapapagod intindihin at unawain ang mga bagay-bagay lalo na't kung tungkol sayo. Alam kong nahihirapan ka na sa setup mo, sa buhay na mayroon ka. Pero sana, huwag mong isipin na napapagod kami sayo," she said and smiled.

"Ikaw yung dahilan bakit may organisasyon at ahensyang mayroon tayo ngayon. Ikaw yung pinakadahilan ng lahat, Zodiac. So please, don't fucking put on your mind that you're a failure or a ne'er-do-well. Always remember that you are a gift. Regalo na kung bakit tayo sama-sama ngayon, dito at kahit saan," I just smiled on what Mayaka told her. She really knows how to make someone calm.

Arzana spoke. "What Mayaka told you was right, Vashdrim. Ayaw naming may umaapi at nang-aaway sayo. Lahat ng gulo mo, lahat ng away mo.. away nating lahat yun, okay? Hindi ka nila pwedeng saktan, hindi pwede," she said, shaking her head.

"You are one of the missions we vowed to protect, Zodiac. Huwag mo sinasabi ng utak mo kung tired kami na sayo," Katana said.

Mayaka laughed. "Tinatanong yun, Katana. Huwag mong tinatanong yung isip mo dapat," she explained.

Katana grimaced. "Ugh! I really hate their language and yeah, even that man!" She exclaimed.

My brows automatically furrowed. "A man? Who?"

"One of the guys we argued with earlier. The fucking Harden guy," she said.

Zodiac laughed. "Napansin ko ngang sinundan ka niya kanina."

"Yeah. He followed me and you know what? Sabi ko ayaw ko magplay pero gusto niya raw. Ako adjust gano'n?" Katana said, rolling her eyes. I am just suppressing my laugh while listening to her.

Arzana tapped Katana's shoulder. "Alalahanin mo, Blaise ang pangalan ng hinahanap mo sa school na iyon at hindi Harden o Amiro," she reminded as she laughed. Katana just pouted and looked away.
