CHAPTER 6

MAYAKA

"Mayaka, ano favorite mo ulam?" Katana kept on asking me questions, practicing her Tagalog speaking skills. Well, I can't stop laughing for she's trying hard to speak the language.

Katana snapped at me. "Hey, why you laughing at me? Is there something wrong about my sentence? I mean, about my words?" I just nodded and she grimaced.

"Now, I hate their language! I am tired now," she pouted. I just smiled as I watched her facial expressions for she's still practicing the language until now.

It's been three weeks when the agency handed us the mission. If you're going to ask us if we wanted this mission.. Well, I'm sure that even my mates will going to answer you a 'no'. If only our heads give us the information we needed, we're now in that country.. We're now in the move. But they didn't feed us anything, so expect the delay 'cause we figuring everything out.. on our own.

"Arzana, ano ginagawa mo?" Katana asked Arzana. Well, it was obvious that Arzana was doing some plates yet she's still asking. Para lang may masabi.

Arzana looked at her. "You know what, Katana? You know how to speak the language. It was your accent that ruins it," she said, suppressing her laugh.

Katana rolled her eyes. "Well, I can speak nine languages and I've even learned the six languages in just about three weeks. So, give me a week and I can assure you that I can speak Tagalog, straight," she proudly uttered. Arzana and I just laughed at her. She really loves challenging herself.

"Agents, are you done packing up your things?" Hanabi's potent voice enswathed the whole room. We just looked at her and nodded. Well, I'm excited and a little bit nervous on what's waiting for us there.

Zodiac sat and hugged the pillow next to her. "Are you thinking what I'm thinking?" She uttered. We all looked at her after she said that.

"Huh? Ano ginagawa mo?" Katana asked her. We all laughed.

I tapped her leg. "Katana, ano sinasabi mo.. That's the right term, sinasabi." I corrected her.

Katana pouted. "Lo siento, hermana. Imma try again," she faked a cough. "Zodiac, ano sinasabi mo?" We're all suppressing our laughs because of her. Damn, her accent makes it funny.

Zodiac sighed. "What I mean is, are you thinking the same thing as mine? Like, what are the things waiting for us there? How people behave and how they treat other nations coming to their country? Are you nervous, happy or what?" She asked. I just looked away. Well, I don't know.

"I am.. happy knowing that this is our first time leaving Europe for us to live in an Asian country. At the same time, I am nervous to what kind of people the legatees are. Well, I don't care about the other people there, what's important is that the mission and the mission. That's the thing... our purpose," Katana uttered. We just nodded.

"What about the school? Is that already settled?" I asked.

Arzana nodded. "Yeah. There are three schools in Manila that offers Mechatronics. Imagine that? There are about hundreds of schools there but only three universities offers that program," she explained. We just nodded.

"So about those three, did you get some informations? I mean, the list of students taking Mechatronics?" Hanabi asked.

Arzana pouted. "Actually, I got the list of students taking up that course from the two universities."

"Did you find Blaise name there?" I asked again.

She shook her head. "There was no student named Blaise in the lists. I double-checked everything, the files of first year to fifth year students but I didn't saw his name," she said.

"So, Imma assume that Blaise was enrolled to the other one, then? I mean, how about the files to the last university?" Katana interrogated.

Arzana heaved a sigh. "That's the point. The two universities do have tight security but still, I got their lists. The last university I was trying to enter was quite heavy and a really secured one. I've even used my other hacking apps and websites that I don't really use but still, I can't enter their database," she said nonchalantly. We all sighed in frustration.

"I think, Blaise was really enrolled there. So, what now? Are we going to enroll to the last university? Final decision?" Zodiac asked. Well, I know that she's happy that we're now entering a real and physical school 'cause I know that she's already sick dealing with homeschooling. Well now, we can enroll to a school 'cause our mission is there.

Katana pouted. "If Blaise was really there, then there's a possibility that the other four was also enrolled there, right? I just noticed that from the start, we do depend to Blaise always. Starting from the robot that emits light, the Mechatronics Engineering course and his name that was nonsense," she uttered. We just nodded.

"Well, another question.." I asked absent-mindedly. They all looked at me. "How about our appearances? I mean, look at me.. So, this is my look as I study and enter the university? People there might notice who we are. I mean, there's a possibility," I uttered. They all looked away.

"Well often, we pretend to be unsavory characters so we can fit in with our targets, or we may pretend to be naive, would-be-victims and yeah, even disguising. But, this one is quite different. We're entering a school this time and we're going to study. That's a formal institution and general so we don't need to change a thing on us," Hanabi said. We all just nodded.

"So, how about eye contacts and applying some hair color? Are we going to change them or you know, just leave it bare," Arzana asked. Well, there's nothing wrong with my blue eyes and so as Katana. The other three possessed color brown orbs which for me is really cool.

"So, okay. Katana and Mayaka needs to wear contact lenses. Then, all of us needed to change our hair colors. Brown and black hair would be good," Hanabi added. Again, we just nodded.

I noticed Arzana looked at us, one by one as she smiled. "So, that's it? Tomorrow is the day, agents. Three years will start by-and-by. Well, good luck to all of us," she said.

"Well, Zodiac is the happiest being here. She wanted to be free and breathe a new kind of air. Just remember all the things we've told you, Vashdrim.. Be nice to people even though they aren't nice to you," I said. Zodiac nodded and hugged me.

"Si, hermana. Well, good luck to all of us. I hope this mission will be a success. I know we can do it," she muttered.

And I thought it was just me and Zodiac hugging each other. We just felt the heaviness and there, the other three joined the hug as well. I wish us a good luck... Karna.
