"jun hyung? bin hyung?"

the two mentioned boys, who were coming back from the storage room, all bubbly and happy as they stuck close together like glue turned their heads at the mention of their names.

the former's face turned into a scowl at the sight of the person who addressed him.

hueningkai, who was waiting still at the hospital door of soobin's room, was confused at the drastic change of yeonjun and soobin as to when he last saw them.

soobin felt yeonjun's arm tense at the sight of hueningkai and he frowned, clasping yeonjun's hand and trying to calm him down.

"what do you want?" yeonjun spat with his eyebrows knit together and soobin widened his eyes.

he had expected tension between them but he didn't expect their friendship to come tumbling down to this extent.

"yeonjun." soobin whispered into yeonjun's ear softly.

yeonjun could barely hear him though in the sudden rage that'd engulfed him after seeing kai.

he couldn't believe how soobin was keeping calm.

"aren't you mad?" yeonjun turned to soobin with fiery eyes.

"aren't you angry at what he did to you?" yeonjun pointed at hueningkai, his other hand clenched into a fist tight.

soobin took his eyes away from yeonjun's and at hueningkai's, whose eyes were filled with guilt as he glanced up from the floor and at soobin.

soobin's eyes softened, his grip on yeonjun's sleeve tightening. "no. i'm not."

both of the boys' eyes widened for different reasons.

"how!?" yeonjun almost screamed.

"he almost killed you, choi soobin, how-"

"im just.. not mad at him." soobin maintained eye-contact with hueningkai while the words left his mouth.

"you know hueningkai's not someone who'd do that with malicious intent!" soobin's eyes left kai's and went back to his boyfriend, who was looking at him with confusion and rage.

"malicious or not, he almost killed you! i'm never forgiving him for that."

"can't you do it for me, jun?"

"this is the one thing i can't do for you."

hueningkai watched their back-and-forth with a guilty expression.

yes, he did feel a bit out of place with their argument, but he also felt bad he was the reason for it.

he also could never understand how soobin wasn't mad at him.

he completely thought yeonjun was in the right but he also couldn't help be thankful soobin wasn't angry at him.

"yeonjun, i was there. i saw it in his eyes. he was hurting just as much as me." soobin bent down a little and held yeonjun's face so they were completely at eye-level with each other.

soobin saw the look in his eyes and knew yeonjun wasn't going to budge.

he sighed softly. he didn't want it to have come to this.

"just..." he started.

"think of it as the fight we had. on our date."

yeonjun's aura immediately changed, he almost melted into soobin's arms as his eyes immediately softened at the thought of it.

"you hurt me, right? unconsciously or not." soobin asked.

yeonjun nodded. he'd still hold it against himself for the rest of his life.
