Hey everyone!
Welcome to another chapter of surviving l̶i̶f̶e̶ the zombie apocalypse!
Today, we will be discussing people, LiKe ReAl PeOpLe.
What I mean is, I will be explaining some basic precautions and tricks to see if someone is trust worthy :)
So let's get started, quick POV:
You're walking in the blazing heat, the blinding sun hitting your eyes, beads of sweat dragging down your forehead but you keep your legs going, you walk and walk until your exhausted and your knees can't support your weight anymore making you collapse on the side of the empty highway. You are in desperate need of some water to quench your thirst and help you keep on going, but you know you've practically inhaled your supply all the way to the last drop.
Feeling a pair of eyes on you, your head instinctively snaps to the side to find a blurry silhouette approaching you at an alarming speed, you try to get up in hopes of evading what seems to be a zombie, but miserably fail.
Handing all hope to fate, you sit there accepting the fact that you are probably going to be eaten alive by a stinky corpse, you hear the foot steps approaching you but they sound strangely human reviving a small piece of hope. They come up to you and ask if you are okay, you tell them that you need a bit of water and they give you some of their's, they help you up and help you keep going for a bit more until you find a shady spot, you both take a seat and the person offers you a proposition to work together, you obviously aren't sure if they are trust worthy, they did give you some water, but they did it too willingly, it could be a trap, or the person could be genuine, you aren't sure which.
You can either accept or refuse their offer, each has it's own consequence like how you don't have any water and your resources are running out, you are also tired and it will be easier to sleep if someone is taking watch (you can take turns).
But if you accept, you could be in potential danger, that person can steal all your resources while you're asleep, or use you as bait for the zombies, etc. In a situation where minimum information can be obtained, it is best to use your instincts.
If you feel the slightest bit uncomfortable around that person, then trusting them could lead to fatal outcomes, it doesn't apply mentally only, if your gut hurts, if you have a headache that appeared when they did, if you feel uncomfortable turning your back to them, then that's your instinct. Trust it.
Some good indicators that the person is safe would be not getting any of the symptoms mentioned above or any negative ones in general (obviously), feeling safe, less grim atmosphere etc.
The more you try to listen to your instinct, the stronger it gets! So good luck!
You should also look for physical signs, like if their eyes are shifty, they blink quite a lot, they keep fidgeting, or are too still, then that might indicate that they are nervous and/or hiding something, also, if they make up a lie on the spot (which they probably will as they just met you) it will be inconsistent, they might slip up and mention something, or change an answer etc, so look out for seemingly insignificant signs as they can make a huge difference.
Hope this helps ۜ\(סּںסּَ' )/ۜ
Over and out!
