Lauren made so little noise when walking that if she hadn't been watching the sidewalk she wouldn't have noticed her arrival.
She sat next to her with a lighter in her hand and the lit cigarette inside her mouth.
Why hadn't Camila left when she had the chance? Even she didn't know it herself.
"It's a nice night, don't you think?"
She was confused by such a casual question in a situation that tormented her.
"Excuse me?"
Lauren just ignored her.
"I could paint this sky, I'm sure. Capturing the brightness of the moon will be difficult, but I can do it. I can always do it..."
"Are you kidding me?"
How could she be more interested in painting the sky than in the fact that her arms were still more ink-free than a baby?
"Of course not," she said. Her green eyes didn't separate from the night sky, and that began to frustrate her. "Look at the moon! I can swear it looks bigger than ever... and the stars... I've never seen so many."
She loved the way Lauren's eyes appreciated the night sky, and how her words came out of her lips with adoration, but she was so worried about herself that she didn't think about the fact that the girl was really enjoying the view.
"Can you stop acting like an idiot and get to the point?"
"What are you talking about?" When she turned to look at her, Camila could feel some disgust on her face. She had a frown and her lips formed a thin line. She resembled a girl who had a candy removed.
"You know what I'm talking about, Lauren! My arms!"
"They are quite nice," She flattered with a smile "but to be honest I prefer your ass."
In other situation she would've blushed.
"Can you stop being so irritating and...?"
"Do you want a cigarette?" She interrupted her while she pulled one from between her boobs, where she probably had a big stash. Camila was angry that Lauren, again, had overlooked her words.
"I don't smoke, Lauren" The girl simply shrugged and put back the cigarette, giving a puff to the one between her lips and then take it away with her fingers and release the smoke.
Had she not been so preoccupied with herself she would have noticed how Lauren seemed to put all of herself into this simple action. And the delicate way her fingers took the cigarette, almost tenderly, to finally let out a gray cloud with a gentle sigh.
"Don't tell anyone, please" She begged with fear.
"What? That don't you smoke?"
"Lauren! You know what I'm talking about!"
"Not really" She said while looking at her "... And it's frustrating" She recognized.
"Don't tell anyone I don't have tattoos."
The green-eyed girl only looked at her completely confused and then smiled sweetly at her. She was about to stroke the tattoo artist's cheek, but she retracted at the last minute.
"Okay" She agreed by shrugging her shoulders. And although Camila saw in her eyes the desire to continue looking at the sky, that emerald green remained running through her features slowly, as if trying to capture every tiny pore in her skin.
"Okay? Are you just saying okay?" Camila was clearly shocked. "Are you really not going to ask me for anything else?"
"Do I have to?"
