Sunday night

Taylor comes over to me, "I'm so sorry, my brother is such a dumbass."

I take off the ring. "Don't worry, it wouldn't work out between us anyways."

After they left, it seemed like everyone else did too. Taylor and Vante left together, as did Mateo and Raegan, Mia offered Alex a way home but he insisted he wait for his sister. There left was Alex and I. I take the bottle and drink more resulting with myself becoming even more drunk.

"I am not liking your sister so much." I mumble.

"That makes two of us." He chuckles coming and sitting on the couch by me. He glances at the ring. "Holy shit were you marrying the bastard?"

"God no." I roll my eyes. "As if."

"Good." Alex moves a loose strand out of my face. "He doesn't know how to treat a lady properly, never has." Alex shakes his head and winks. "But I do."

He makes me smile. I push his chest softly back. I try to hand him the bottle.

"I'm driving sweetie."

I take a sip. "You can sleep here, they have more than enough rooms."

"What if I just don't wanna sleep in any room?" He scoots closet to me.

I stand up yanking him to my room. I kick off my socks and throw off my sweat shirt and snuggle into my bed. "Come on, Alexie."

"You don't even know me babe. I could be crazy."

"Don't worry, I have a gun, taser, pocket knife, and plenty more." I smile.

His eyes widen but he shrugs. "You can protect me then." He slides off his shoes and grabs the blanket from the chair and lies down on top of my cover beside me.

"Alex?"

"Yes."

"What's your last name?"

"Neal, sweetie."

"Alex Neal, from Elmwood High? We went to high school together." I ramble on.

He chuckles. "How could I ever forget Noel Thompson, the prettiest girl who was at my high school."

"So your girlfriend wasn't the prettiest?" I roll my eyes remembering he was paired up all of high school.

"Oh her." He chuckles. "She wanted something better and apparently something better was Carter Bryson."

"I'm sorry." I mumble.

"Don't be, Noel, I just wish it could've be you instead."

He's so sweet and respectful. I soon was off to sleep with his arm loosely wrapped around me.

Monday

I'm awaken to a screaming match between Carter and Alex.

"You have 10 seconds to get out of my house before I put a bullet in your head, Neal." Carter threatens.

"I'm leaving, there isn't no reason for you to overreact." He grabs his shoes bumping Carter's shoulder and begins to leave my room. "Text me sometime, honey."
