Chapter twenty-four

[ Carter's POV ]

The detective confirmed that the body inside the burning house was Noel's. The unburned hair strands, her clothes, it all matched.

"The ring?" I mumble as my eyes water.

The detective reaches into his bag and pulls out her broken phone and the ring. "I'm sorry for your loss." He leaves the house.

My heart was broken into a thousand pieces. I cried endless amount of tears as I lie in her bed. She can't be dead, it's impossible. It's my fault, I did this. I cuddle her pillow without realizing I fell asleep. I never thought I would cry over some random woman, but here I am.
I awake in the middle of the night to the guys sitting on her loveseat. Their eyes were swollen from crying also.

"I-I just don't believe it." Mateo mumbles.

"Her fucking dad finished the job, huh. He's gonna wish he kept his ass in prison." I grab my duffle bag marching out.

I fill it with guns as move into action. I reach into my pocket feeling some object. It was the ring the detective gave me last night. I look at it, it was similar but it was not my Mamas.

As small chuckle is released, "Look at this shit." I hold up the ring.

"What about it?" Vante furrows his eyebrows confused."

"She's not dead. They set it up." I show them closely. "This isn't the ring."

I run upstairs and go through her things searching for the ring. I couldn't find it anywhere. I open her drawers and the first one reveals the ring with her hair stuck on it. I show the guys and their eyes widen.

"Let's get back our girl." I say as we leave. "Mikey, I need it now."

Mikey is at my house in 10 minutes and gives me instructions. I pay him his sum and head to Benjamin's house.

I ring his buzzer. "Open up Benjamin."

"Leave or die. You choose." I hear Benjamin's sick voice on the speaker box.

He opens the gates. I nod to the guys as we make our way towards his house as a group of men run out. It was about twenty to our three. The biggest guy dares to be the first one to take me on. He walks up and pops his knuckles getting in fighting position. I reach into the back of my pants pulling out my metallic black pistol and aiming for the heart. He thought this would be a fair fight? Well he thought wrong, it wasn't fair when he kidnapped Raven and Noel.

Everyone reaches in their pants pulling out weapons as guns start blazing.

"Shit!" I yell as I get shot in the thigh and then take out the shooter.

We manage to take them all out. I kicked the door but it didn't budge. Vante and Mateo kick after me not being able to get it open either.

"You thought you'd just walk in?" He chuckles on the speaker. "I know my son, I know your ways. You think I didn't know you'd bring a gun? I just wanted to see if you were still the same pussy you were when you let me kill your mother and choke your girlfriend."

The anger that filled me was raging out. I race around the house knocking on the outside walls attempting to find a weak spot. Once I find one I start shooting along with the guys and kicking a hole big enough for us to rip the rest apart then slide in. We go up to Benjamins study where he was sitting back drinking champagne like he was fucking celebrating.
