Chapter twenty-two

I woke up disappointed as I laid alone in bed. I take a shower and get dressed. I put on a lime colored sun dress and slip on sandals. I put my hair in a messy bun and let some loose strands down. I turn my phone on to see eight missed text messages

Tay❤️: good morning girl, join us in the big kitchen for breakfast.

Tay❤️: I hope you're feeling better from last night!

Louis❤️: So you guys broke up? That sucks, he's missing out babe.

Kai❤️: Meet me tonight on the beach, I want to go back to how we were before.

Kai❤️: At midnight.

Teo❤️: Did we kiss last night?

Teo❤️: Maybe that was just my pillow.

Teo❤️: Raegan was gonna beat your ass. Just playing, I wouldn't let her baby.

Eight texts and none from Carter. I head down to the big kitchen and see everyone sitting around the table. Mateo, Vante and Taylor were telling the chef their orders as Carter was occupied on his phone and Tanner just walked in too.

I sit beside Mateo and Taylor and order strawberry crepes.

Vante and Mateo were arguing over which was better bacon or sausage.

"Noel's smart." Mateo begins. "End this argument. Vante and Taylor said sausage, Carter and I say bacon."

"I'm gonna have to go with bacon, sorry." I smile.

"I choose sausage." Tanner says tying it and earning glares from Teo.

The chef quickly hands up back our food and we thank him.

"So what do we have today?" I glance up.

Carter was eating his biscuits and gravy without the thought of looking at me.

"We have the Family Cookout, that's all. Just a bunch of food, music, and drama." Taylor answers me.

I nod.

"Carter where'd you sleep last night since you and Noel fought?" Tanner asks out of no where.

"I didn't." He finally looks up at me.

He had bags under his eyes. He looked exhausted and hurt at the same time. He gets up from his seat and leaves.

"Awkward." Tanner says and I roll my eyes at him.

"We aren't together anymore." I mumble out.

Taylor leans over and hugs me. "I'm sorry."

"Do you need me to break up with Raegan? Cause I'll do it, El." Mateo says joking but serious at the same time.

"I'll date Raegan." Tanner shrugs. "She's hot."

Mateo about lunged at him. "You couldn't get her even if you tried." He scoffs.

"How hard could it be, you got her." He smirks.

"Tanner shut the fuck up okay?" Taylor states.

"So Noel-" Tanner begins.

"No." I cut him off as I drink my apple juice.

"You wanna go shopping?" Taylor smiles. "I need an outfit for tonight.
