Amara's POV.
I look out into the snowy planet of Hoth.
All I can see is the snow around me and my purple lightsaber glowing. My body is slowly starting to feel the cold. I look to my left and then to my right. She has to be here somewhere. In a flash, a green lightsaber flashes in front of me. I take a step back as I block the attack with my lightsaber.
"Don't let your guard down." I look to my side to see another green blade, inches from my waist. "Ever. You never know when your opponent will strike." The green lightsabers are pulled away from me and are soon out of sight.
"What seems to be the problem, my student?"
"Nothing."My master comes into sight. She grabs my lightsaber from my hand and puts a hand on my shoulder. She raises an eyebrow at me and lets out a small grin.
"I'm no fool. We can take one moment to talk. Follow me," She says as she places her hand on my shoulder. She then takes a lead in front of me with with my lightsaber leading the way.My master is one of the few Zabrak in the Jedi order. Many look down on her because of many in her species they are against the Jedi. Her skin is light blue and black. She looks demanding and rude but she is the kindest person I know, besides Obi-Wan. They come pretty close. I couldn't imagine having any other Jedi teach me.
My master and I walk into a cave. Snow is no longer surrounding me. My master looks at me and smiles. She hands me my lightsaber. I turn it off and buckle it into my belt.
"Master, where are the clone troopers?"
She shrugs and looks around. "Maybe they're further in the cave. They can protect themselves. Now, let's talk. What is on your mind, Amara?"
My master gestures me to two big rocks. She sits on the one facing outside and I sit on rock facing into the cave. She gives me a gentle smile. I shrug."I don't know, master. I just feel unsettled. These last few nights I've felt wrong, like the force is trying to tell me something. Then also... I've been thinking about my parents a lot. Like who they were and could've been. How could they just leave me here?"
"Amara, they knew of the strength you held in the force. They didn't want you to just look past them and live like everyone else. I met them myself. They came to Obi-Wan and I. They begged us to take you to the council. They told us how they were t0o poor to be able to keep you alive. They explained how they knew you were force sensitive. I promised to protect you and then the council allowed me to be your master and train you. Amara, I promise you they didn't want to leave."
"But they never came back."
"They did. They came once a month but one day stopped coming."
"They're dead?"
"I don't know."She looked me up and down. She let out a sigh.
"Amara, I know how this feeling can be but you need to try and let it go. It leads to the dark side."
I chuckled. "Master, that is why my lightsaber is purple. I use the light and dark side of the force," I explained to her. My master shrugged.
"Well you already know how I feel towards that."
"I know, I know. I would just think you'd trust me. I know what path I am on. I only want to be on the light side, with you."
"I know but that doesn't mean your feelings won't change."I stand up and look out from the cave. She really thinks this little of me. All the other Jedi see me as a great student. Why can't she just see me that way? All I ever try to do is please her and I can't even do that.
I face her. "What about Mace Windu? He is a talented Jedi and he uses both the dark and light yet he stays loyal to the light. He stays loyal to the people just as I do."
"I know that, Amara. The difference is that you are still a student and he is already apart of the Jedi council and a Jedi master."My master lets out a sigh. "Look, I trust you now but that doesn't mean your mind won't change in the future. That is why I'm trying to really glue this into you." I nod.
"Amara, I know I don't tell you enough but I want you to know I'm truly proud of you. You've grown so much. I know it's not good but you're like a daughter to me. I just thought I'd tell you that."
I smiled. I gave her a hug. She hugs me back. I look into the gave and see a trooper coming towards us. I get out of the hug.
"There he is-."
I see him have his blaster pointing towards us."Master behind you!"
I pull out my lightsaber and ignited it. The trooper began to shot at us. I block the first blast hit. My master turns around and gasps. She is quickly hit by a blaster shot.
"Master!" I cry out. I jump over the trooper and slice his head off. His helmet falls to the floor. I turn off my lightsaber and rush to my master's side."Master!" I look down at the blaster shoot on her stomach.
"Let me get the others."
"No!"
"Why not? Your hurt."
"The other troops are in on it too. I know they are. You have to get out of here."
"I'm not going without you. Can you stand?"I put her arm around my shoulder.
"No."
"Please just try."
"Amara, this is my time. You have to go. They are going to kill us both if you don't get out of here!"
"I can't, I won't leave you!"
"It's an order!"This can't be it. After 16 years, this is how it ends. This is how she dies. This is really where my training ends. I imagined my whole life here. I was going to finish my training and become a Jedi. Then I would train my own padawan with my master by my side. We would continue to fight together, do what is best for the people.
"Sit me down," My master begged. I could feel her becoming weak. I sat her down on one of the rocks we had just been sitting on. She looked at me, "Hand me his blaster." I looked down at the headless body. I shrugged as I went down to grab his blaster. I hand it to her.
"Amara, this is happening everywhere not just to us. The troops are going against the Jedi. They will search for you. Once they realize their friend here is dead they will be coming to get us. You won't be here when they do."
"No I'm not-."
"Amara!"
I close my eyes and nod my head."You have to leave, you must. Listen to the force. Don't you feel it? There's a huge disturbance. Go to the Jedi temple. Take the ship. Find a way past the clones. Find Obi-Wan, he'll take care of you. He'll finish your training."
I shook my head.
"Yes, Amara, you must. I need you to take this." She handed me a hologram and her lightsaber. "Please."I slowly reach for her lightsaber and place it in my belt. I feel tears forming in my eyes as I take the hologram.
"You can do this. I know you can. I'm very proud of you. Get out of here. Maybe have a family some day if that's what you want. It's something I wish I could've done. I want your training to be important to you but, if you find someone you love, don't hesitate. It's okay to leave your training."
"I will finish my training, master. You will finish teaching me. I'll come back for you. I promise," I insisted.
"Now go."
I hug her, knowing deep down she'll be dead when I come back. She hugs me back. I began to cry and feel myself shake as I hug her.
"I love you, Kiddo," My master says softly."I think they're here!" A clone trooper shouts from the distance.
"Go," My master mumbles.
I get to my feet and rush out of the cave. As I run, I hear gunfire and cries of pain from my master.
I will make it out of her, for her.
