"Masquerade"

Devon's P.O.V

I woke up sore for some reason I don't recall doing anything physically exhausting yesterday but I managed to get up I headed to the bathroom and looked my self in the mirror if I say I looked exactly how I felt would be and understatement but I had dark bags under my eyes and my face was all pale i opened the medicine cabinet and looked at the pill bottles all neatly placed next to each other I took one of the Orange bottles and opened it placing two capsules in the palm of my hand

"Just an other day" I said to my self I put the bottle back and closed the cabinet

I looked down at the little blue monsters sitting there mocking me I hated this part of me but thats what it all was part of me. I put them on the side as I proceeded with my daily routine I brushed my teeth and combed my hair putting it in a messy bun see my hair is not that long but I can tie a pony tail well besides the extra strands loosely floating in the air I washed my face and looked in the mirror again good the color of my skin was slowly coming back

"Come on you little fuckers" I said picking up the pills and walking gently out of my room and to the kitchen

I picked up a cup and filled it with tap water you see I don't care about the "kinds of water" water is water so don't judge I swallowed the pills and just stood there waiting I don't for what but I just waited

See every time I take them it's like I can feel then doing there job I guess I could find some humor in this but what else could you do when you have low count of blood cells oh and asthma fucking asthma at twenty three

"Oh shit I forgot" I said remembering the fact that I didn't take the pills yesterday that's why I woke up the way I did

All of a sudden my phone notified me that I had a message

I went over to the living room where I last used my phone

"Where did I leave it" I said moving cushions around

I reached in the depths of the sofa and grabbed what I was looking for

"You thought you could hide" I whispered

I unlocked my phone not that I have anything to hide and opened the message

*Masquerade party tonight 9pm at club Dom downtown don't keep me waiting*

I smirked as I read the message over and over again

*See you at 9pm ;)*

I put the phone down and went to get ready for work

(Hour later)

"Tie, check, hair, check, phone, check, inhaler, check, helmet, check, keys wait where did I put those" I said looking inside my jackets pocket

I ran to the kitchen and saw them on the counter top

"Check" I said making my way to the front door

I walked out and locked the door behind me

I put my helmet on and mounted my motorcycle turned it on and off I went

(Fifteen minutes later)

I parked in front and hoped off it was still closed I thought Jessie would be here by now

I grabbed the keys and unlocked the front doors quickly running inside before the alarm goes off I put the code in on time and walked to the back to put my things away I walked back and started to scan the bar to see if we were low on anything
