It wasn't that Owen needed anything new but Richy couldn't resist a trip down to the town market. Just what Owen needed, new experience and a fascinating day.

Owen was sitting happily, munching on some grapes when Richy came back to the kitchen.

"Dada." Owen says holding up a grape with a smile on his face. Eyes twinkling in innocence, a purity that's hiding hurt beneath darkness. Richy doesn't know how he does it, if he could forget everything that's bad happened to him he would in a heartbeat.

"Thanks baby." Richy smiled back, gladly taking the grape. "Time to changed buba, got a surprise for you." Richy said picking Owen out of his chair, a confused look on his baby's face.

"Whaa dat daddy?" Owen cocked his head to the side.

"You'll see. Just have to wait, okay baby?" Richy said as he changed Owen into another set of short dungarees and a long sleeved top with knees high socks and the light up shoes.

"Yeah me can do dat daddy!" Owen clapped his hands and gave his daddy a sloppy kiss on the cheek.

Richy carried Owen down to the car and buckled him in. He had Bonni in his lap and was playing with her small ears. He couldn't wait for his surprise. Whatever it could be?

Richy got himself in and turned on the radio, a man and a lady was just having a conversation about the song that had just been sung. He tuned it out and just listened to his little baby mumbling to himself and playing with his bear.

The drive wasn't to long, once again no other cars on the winding country roads.

Once they had reached the market square, Richy found a place to park and was shocked to see it already being so busy.

He got Owen out and helped him steady standing up holding his free hand as his other was clutching onto Bonni.

Owen has never been to a market before. There was lots of big marquees set up with stalls selling niknaks and big trucks selling food and drinks. A large sign was strung high on two poles spelling out "autumn fair". Owen stood next to his daddy mouth gapping and eyes wandering around.

"My supise dada?" Owen asked.

"Yes baby, if there's things at the stools you would like I'll get it for you. You've been such a good boy and you deserve something nice." Richy said.

"Fank oo daddy." Owen replied.

"No problem little one. Come on now don't want to miss out on the fun." Richy said beginning to walk through the entrance.

Owen looked around while trying not to stumble and fall.

There was a lot of other people like him. Little babies with their daddy's and mummy's. Running around, eating chips and having mucky fingers, being held in warm arms. It was amazing. He loved this place. All the smells and all the sounds. Decorations and toys.

First the two walked through the old antique stalls. Broken polished wooden clocks, mini statues with rubbed faces, earrings and necklaces. Nothing really interested Owen except the twinkling of the fake jewels.

Then there was the stalls with puzzles and books, retro games that are long gone from toy shops.

"Dada? Me see, up up!" Owen whined trying to stand on his top toes.

"Yes alright baby, just wait." Richy chuckled and picked up Owen, letting him sit on his hip. "Anything you like?"

"Dat one." Owen pointed at a game that goes by the name Kerplunk. A very colourful game with sticks and marbles. It appealed to Owens taste very much so.

"Sure baby. Let me just set you down okay?" Richy said, putting Owen back onto his own two feet.

"£5 sir." The lady said put the game into the bag Richy had already handed to her.

"Thanks." Richy said.

"Have a good day." The lady waved goodbye and smiled at Owen which made him blush and hide into his daddy's legs.

"Alright little where to next?" Richy asked, suppressing a laugh as the two slowly started walking again.

"Food?" Owen whispered.

"Sure why not. What would you like?" Richy asked. It was at least 2 hours until lunch but they weren't going to be all that time so to make Owens gift more special, they would have lunch earlier.

"Ot dog and colate ake?" Owen asked.

"Well that's sorted. Let's go find your lunch." Richy nodded and picked Owen up so it was easier to walk around. The market had started to get pretty busy and he didn't want Owen running off or getting hurt.

It took a while to find the right truck. But once they did Owen was happily munching on a hotdog with slightly to much kechtup.

"Dada oo ant one?" Owen reached up from where he sat next to Richy on the bench, to poke his face with a ketchup licked finger.

"Daddy's already finished his. But thank you anyways, you are so kind little one." Richy smiled, "we have time to look around the rest of the stalls, so you can choose 2 more things you would like, okay?"

"Otay." Owen said mindlessly, starting on the chocolate cake he had gotten.

They walked around hand in hand, Owens tongue sticking out to the side as he reaches on his tip toes to see on the tables. Nothing caught his eye until they rounded the corner and the most amazing teddie he's ever layed eyes on, sat just waiting to be bought.

"Dada?" Owen awed at the teddie.

"Yeah, which one do you like?" Richy saw what his little baby was staring at, he found it adorable that he lit up like that at the sight of the teddie.

"Dat one." Pointed at the teddie. A penguin with sparkling eyes. He's never seen anything like it.

"Okay baby. One penguin coming up." Richy smiled at the man behind the table and bagged up the teddie.

"Oh no, no need for the bag. Already got one thank you." Richy interrupted. He turned around and started to walk

"Daddy, wook!" Owen squealed, jumping and pointing at the coolest thing he's ever seen.

He couldn't wait, tugging and tugging at his daddy's sleeve.

"Yes, yes. Show me the way." Richy chuckled.

There it was. A drum set. A red and gold painted drum set. With two wooden drum sticks.

"You want that?" Richy questioned.

"Yes yes yes! Pwease. Pwease. I wov it." Owen looked like he could faint from giddiness.

"Well, I'll get it for you then." Richy nodded to the women behind the table and had to get another bigger bag to put the drum set in it.

"Fank oo, fank oo, fank oo." Owen clapped and giggled. He couldn't wait to try it out.

He loved his daddy so much. He couldn't believe that he was able to get all these toys. He will be able to show off his skills on the drum set. He was certain to impress his daddy. He was always told to impress others, they'll like you better then.

And Richy loved his little baby so much too. Loved how excited he got when he saw something he liked. Loved how he was a messy eater. Loved how his innocent eye stared back at him.

They were both so lucky to have eachother. Nothing could tear them apart.
