- Third POV -
It's been a month since Y/n has lost control of his armor.
In that time, he has been locked in a cell in the Justice League Watchtower so that the JL members knew where he was at all times. Amethyst was locked away in another part of the tower away from Y/n so there was no chance of escape. The suit being studied by the geniuses of the team to figure out what Amethyst is and what makes her, her.
Five times everyday, one of the members of the Justice League would come to give him food and water as they knew that he was just a person that was broken, not some criminal that deserved punishment. They treated him as kindly as they could as they provided him entertainment and good quality of food.
One person in particular came as often as they could to check up on him. They exchanged very little words as the one in the cell wouldn't say much. That one person that visited him often was obviously Diana who has formed the closest bond with Y/n after everything with Jill.
Diana: "Y/n. It's been a month since you've been put into this cell. I want to get you out of here as soon as possible so please talk to me."
He looks at the beautiful woman before him before he looks away in shame.
Y/n: "I'm sorry..."
Diana: "Why are you sorry? I told you last time that it wasn't your fault. It was perfectly reasonable for you to lose yourself when Jill passed away."
Y/n: "But I tried to kill Superman..."
Diana: "We have been through this several times Y/n, it was Amethyst's influence and side effects of using her that led you to try to kill Superman."
This exchange may seem like more then normal, but its not. These two have gone through this conversation countless times as Diana has stated and in the end, still does not know how to support Y/n in his time of need.
What's weird was that Y/n seemed perfectly content on living in his cell. He understood why he was in there and he would rather be in there until further notice.
Diana sighs as she remembers how Y/n ended up in the cell. Granted, it was better than she expected, especially from Bruce. The man with a million contingencies and plans.
Flashback...
- Diana's POV -
Bruce called the entire Justice League into a meeting at the round table to talk about what to do with Y/n. So far it's just been me arguing for Y/n's innocence and Bruce trying to persuade the rest of the League that he's dangerous.
Bruce: "I thought I could trust you to handle Y/n. Instead you almost got Superman killed."
Me: "Well I'm sorry that Y/n is human and wanted to get revenge for losing a loved one. Doesn't that sound familiar Bruce? Wanting revenge?"
He doesn't respond to my obvious attempt at making him understand Y/n's actions. Unfortunately for Y/n though, Bruce has not crossed the line of no return.
Clark: "Guys its not Y/n's fault. It's mine. If I just killed Lex Luther when I first fought him, I could've easily prevented thousands of lives from being lost and billions of damage from ever happening. It's my fault that I just don't have the will to kill."
Bruce: "No. We don't kill because then we are no different from the bad people we face. We have morals and its just unfortunate that innocent people die."
Barry: "I agree with Bruce."
Hal: "Same."
John: "I believe that Y/n could've handled it better like Bruce. So I also agree."
I stare at everyone agreeing with Bruce.
Me: "So where does that leave us?"
Bruce: "We treat Y/n similar to how we would treat villains. Put him into a cell."
Me: "And what do you mean by similar?"
Bruce: "We treat him better because I do understand where you're coming from Diana. So we treat him as best as we can but just in a cell where we are able to surveillance him 24/7."
I cross my arms.
Me: "And what will we do when he's in a cell?"
Bruce: "We will see."
I stay silent and sit back down as this is probably the best I can do for Y/n. Put him in a cell for his safety and others.
Clark: "So I'm assuming the meeting is over?"
Bruce: "Yes. The meeting is over and I will contact you all on how we'll handle Y/n in more detail. Have a good evening everyone."
Present...
I watched Y/n laying down on his bed as it was nearing midnight. I felt bad that he hasn't lived the best the past month, but it was the best that people behind bars could live.
In the middle of my thoughts, I felt someone behind me and so I turn around to see it was Bruce.
Bruce: "Hey Diana. How's Y/n doing?"
Me: "Same thing as always. Apologizing for his actions, eats normally, entertains himself, you name it." We say nothing for a bit as we just continue to watch him. "So how much longer will he be in there for?"
Bruce: "Not too much longer I hope. He knows that what he did was wrong but we just need to be extra precautious."
Me: "So why are you here?"
Bruce: "I came to see how he was doing of course. But also I question that has been lingering in my mind."
Me: "And that is?"
He knocks on the glass and this wakes Y/n up. He turns around and sees Bruce and I looking at him. Tired, he sits up and sits at the edge of his bed facing us.
Y/n: "Yes Batman?"
Bruce: "Humor me a little bit and tell me why did you choose the name Ruin?"
This makes Y/n chuckle a bit before I think he realizes why. His face expression just changed to a somewhat depressing look.
Y/n: "Well... it's because Ruin is terrifying and threatening. But I guess the real reason I chose Ruin was mainly because it reminds me of what happened to Jill and what Superman has brought me." This surprises me and I look at Bruce but I couldn't read his reaction. "You know my reason for becoming Ruin so now you can see why I chose it as my name."
It warmed my heart because I can clearly see that Jill was the highlight of Y/n's life and that he can never forget her.
Bruce: "That was a nice story. Thank you Y/n for telling me."
Knowing Bruce, he probably has concluded that being the reason in the end. Turning back to Y/n, I follow his gaze which is directed at Bruce leaving.
Me: "I would rather, I call you Y/n. I like your name and Ruin does not fit you."
I give Y/n a smile which he looks at me and replies back with a soft one back.
