1x04: Family Ties

Vanessa found herself looking at the cottage in front of her, that held her mates. She smiled, knowing she could tell them the gender of her baby.

She was so grateful that all five of the Mikaelson brothers accepted her baby, five complete strangers that she hasn't even met in person yet, even when her own parents, the people who raised her from being a baby herself hadn't.

She walked into the cottage and saw the brothers hanging around. Elijah and Finn were both in armchairs, reading a book each, like usual. Kol was hanging off the couch, with his head touching the floor and his legs hanging on the back of the couch and Niklaus was sat near the window, drawing, like usual.

She stood there and admired the four, unbeknownst to them. Vanessa smiled thinking about how much she loved them. She hadn't met them, but she knew that she loved them, all equally.

Kol was the first one to notice Vanessa there and instantly got up of the couch to rush over to her but fell to the floor, dizzy from the head-rush he got.

Finn shook his head, whilst Elijah tried, but failed, to suppress a smile and Niklaus howled with laughter at his younger brother's unfortunate incident. Kol recovered himself and got up to move to Vanessa whilst glaring at his older brothers.

"Well, hello there Angel."

"Hello Kol. Are you okay?" She responded, smiling at the other brothers as Kol hugs her tightly. They all saw the look of amusement evident in her eyes. "I saw you fall over. Did you get a head-rush by any chance, honey?"

"I'm fine, Angel. But thanks for being so concerned about my health and well-being, unlike some people." Kol said, turning to glare at his brothers.

"Kol, you're an Original vampire. You should be fine; a simple head-rush wouldn't kill you." Elijah explained, putting his book down. 

"Plus, we're in a dream world so nothing here can kill you, since your safe and sound, comfy in that coffin." Niklaus said, smiling happily.

"Don't start that, Nik!" Kol growled at his older, younger brother, who laughed amused.

"Okay, enough of that boys." Vanessa intervened and walked, or more like waddled, over to Finn and Elijah who greeted her, before she moved onto Niklaus, who greeted her then helped her get settled on the couch behind him.

They all sat down, the brothers around their mate, making sure she was comfy and safe from anything that could harm her.

"So, darling. How are you doing?" Elijah asked, kissing the side of Vanessa's head.

"Well, it turns out Caroline is in, what I think is a relationship, with the one and only Damon fricking Salvatore." She said, rolling her eyes and growling out Damon's name. "She's been screwing him for the past few days, which has changed her so much."
