The Coldest Winter

Part 8 - Rallying Up

Lucy: Well we've been walking for ages. Missed Christmas, and all we've done is walk miles to get away from a man who wants to kill me. I lost my mother, and this December has been the worst month ever... and now Dominic doesn't want to return, because of his own selfish fears! The town is right about him-

Luna: Woah woah. That's a bit far... What's your name?

Lucy: Lucy. Yours?

Luna: My name is Luna. Look... You've reached a bottom, and it's easy to tell. A lot of us have... Some have lost their minds. It seems like Charles was secretly evil all along... As for Dominic... He's a very stressed out man. I used to be friends with him in childhood, but we drifted apart, he's not grumpy or miserable. When he lost his parents, he felt like he had nothing left. Until he met his dog, and he was happy... but sadly his dog died too. He's depressed. He's antisocial because he is scared. The people in the town are too harsh on him, I've had that belief for ages. If anything, it's people's misunderstanding is what is driving him worse.

Lucy: Alright. Why is he refusing to return?

Luna: He's scared of being falsely locked up. That won't happen, but people are less likely to beilive Charles did it. But I know how to expose him.

Lucy: What's your plan?

Luna: Charles is a past soldier. He's got a lot of weapons, like swords and guns. And I've noticed something. He took all his weapons to this expedition, and he has a bad habit of leaving weapons near the corpse. I mean, earlier I found my friend Emma, impaled by one of his swords, just lying there.

Lucy: That's disturbing!

Luna: But Charles is so full of himself, that he carves his name on weapons. If we show the town any knives, swords or bodies, specifically with his name, we could prove him bad. Further, he lied to the rest of the town, he said he doesn't talk to his sister anymore, but his sister is on the expedition, but isn't officially registered!

Lucy: We need to find Dominic... Now.

Luna: I agree. Now- MPH!?! *has been chloroform gagged*

Lucy: Luna! *also gets chloroform gagged*

Samantha: We got them.

Charles: Load them onto the carriage.

Samantha: Let's kill them.

Charles: Know what, I've got a better plan. We use them as leverage. We say If he doesn't give up lots of money, we will kill them. If he does, we let her go.

Samantha: Good idea- wait no it's not. They will tell everyone.

Charles: Oh no... that's not true... I'll kill them in their sleep! *smirks and begins to laugh like a psychopath*

Focus is now on Dominic

Dominic: *wakes up, is on a carriage* Augh...

Oscar: *begins panting and walks up to Dominic*

Dominic: Where am I... *gasps* Hey why am I being carried?

George: I'm making sure your alright.

Dominic: Quite frankly... I'm not. I'm overwhelmed!

George: I understand... It's stressful. Without a doubt. But nobody will think your crazy, and nobody will lock you up. We can and will find evidence to accuse Charles, and have him arrested.

Dominic: So your suggesting returning?

George: Well not yet. First up, we need to capture him and his sister, then we need to gather up all surviving explorers, and lastly, get all evidence. Then we return and show court, and he will be locked up for the rest of his life. 

Dominic: *sighs* I've been selfish... I ran away from a child who's lost their mother, and who's being chased by a madman. I'm probably her only hope... She's probably freezing to death... Augh. What have I done...

George: Don't worry, I'm sure another adventurer will take her in. And Charles went east. Right?

Dominic: Yes... wait... STOP THE HORSES!

George: These aren't horses, but alright.

Dominic: If Charles went east, and weeks pass... he would've looked by now, and should be on his way west. He's caught up. Shit.

George: Hang on... *commands his cattle to go back*

Oscar: *jumps off the carriage*

Dominic: Hey Oscar, wait!

Oscar: *picks up a note*

Dominic: Pass to Dominic wolfwood... Shit... *reads*

Hahaha Dominic! Your an idiot! We caught Lucy. And we have another adventurer caught in our net. Specifically your childhood friend... If you want to free them, pay me all your money and loot, or else I will kill them. I'm giving you 3 days. Tick tock tick tock!

Dominic: 3 Days... I've got a better plan. We get those adventurers right now George!

George: Right! *the carriage goes super fast, and they begin gathering adventurers*

6 Hours later...

Dominic: Alright everyone. As you should all know, there's people losing their mind and killing. The main man behind this is Charles eborock. He's killed at least 9 people, and has kidnapped a child! I know you probably think I'm crazy, but no, Charles wants to kill all of us so he can come back alone and be seen as the strong one, the only one who survived! 

George: And furthermore, you guys were too mean to Dominic, he's not miserable, he's sad. But today, he is making a difference. Stand by us! We will rescue Lucy and Luna, and avenge all who he has killed!
