3 Days later...

Dominic: Augh... Were out of food... And using a sword isn't reliable anymore...

Lucy: Maybe use a bow and arrow?

Dominic: Good plan. *crafts a bow and 40 arrows* Right you two stay here. If you see Charles, hide. *walks out of the cave, alone, wandering into the forest*

There are a lot of cattle, ready for taking.

Dominic: *pulls his bow and fires an arrow at a cattle's head*

Cattle: *the one shot drops dead, and the other flee*

Dominic: *shoots one of the running ones* Two of them! *looks around* Oh my...

Dominic sees an adventurer that froze to death.

Dominic: Jesus Christ... They froze to death... *checks to see if they have the adventurer logo* This is a recent one... *walks away, and gets out his pickaxe, mines more iron*

Polar Bear: *creeps up on dominic, but stands on a stick which cracks*

Dominic: *looks behind him and sees the bear, and immediately gets his sword*

Polar Bear: *knocks Dominic away*

Dominic: *gets up and jumps on a hill, having the high ground* Back! *slashes his sword*

Polar Bear: *continues to roar*

Dominic: *jumps on the bears back and stabs their neck, killing the beast* Whew! Close! I guess I should go home with these... *comes home with 1 bear and 2 cattle* I'm home!

Lucy: What did you get?

Dominic: 2 cows and a polar bear. The cows should give us enough meat. And leather too. The bear will insulate us. And I got some iron to smelt aswell. *puts the iron in the furnace, then skins the bear. Dominic then grabs some wool, and puts it under the bear fur, making a very insulated material. He then makes some clothing layers, for trousers and jacket.* Here. Insulative jacket and trousers. Enough for both of us, this will make sure neither of us freeze to death.

Lucy: *puts on the insulative clothes*

Dominic: Also, new hiking boots. This will let us climb easier and keep our feet warm. *hands out a pair to Lucy, and then puts them on himself* And their steel capped.

Lucy: What does that mean?

Dominic: It means that if something fell on your shoes, it wouldn't hurt because their capped with metal.

Oscar: *panting*

Dominic: Yes... I've got food. Wait... I could make a second furnace. One for ores, and one for food! Perfect! *cooks Dominic a steak before giving it to him* Say... I think tomorrow we should look for a rarer metal... Lead. Using it, I could make even better materials, and maybe a gun...

Lucy: Didn't you have a gun?

Dominic: I lost it when charles burned down the house... it's gone. It's why I'm using a bow and arrow. Say... it's the 22nd of December. Soon it will be Christmas!

Lucy: Yay! But how will Santa deliver presents?

Dominic: They will be in our houses... Ready for when we head back. But in the meantime I could make something for you.

Lucy: Will Charles kill me on Christmas?

Dominic: If he tried, he wouldn't be attending Boxing Day.

1 day passes...

Dominic: *looks around the forest for any lead* Come on... just iron and coal... I need lead... *hears an adventurer calling for help* What?

Liam: Help... I'm dying... Dominic! Come here...

Dominic: Shit... Is Charles here?

Liam: He saw this area and asked me where you were... I told him you went east... he fell for it, but he sadistically... *winces* stabbed me, looted me and left me to die...

Dominic: I could try healing you...

Liam: No point... he got my... lungs, and my heart... is bleeding... he's mad... do not go east, he will be searching all over. If you need to evacuate, go west... make sure you survive... *dies*

Dominic: Thank you for deceiving him... *notices Liam is laying dead on a batch of lead* But on the other hand... *begins to mine the lead, doesn't get much but gets a decent amount* anymore lead... *walks on for hours, and only finds 4 batches* Dammit... *picks some frostberries, then goes to his cave*

Lucy: How much lead?

Dominic: 4 batches... but that's not important. I found an adventurer dying. Charles was here! The adventurer told him we went east... it's important not to go east. We should leave tomorrow, and go west. The longer we stay away from Charles, the better. *throws the lead in the furnace* I also got these berries... just incase plain meat got boring. Their cold so I'd recommend heating them up.

Lucy: Very boring... My mom always taught me to eat fruit whenever possible.

Dominic: Well survival is essential. As soon as this lead is smelted, I'm making tools. Then we are going west like we've never gone west before. Understoood?

Lucy: Yes...

Dominic: Go to sleep. This is ideally not how I expected to spend Christmas...

Everyone goes to sleep until the next day.
