Chapter 8- solved and confessed

Christie walked into the shop. Everyone thought Christie was a simple and sweet girl but today it looked as if she was in a fashion show. Stella impatiently asked “Where is the thief?”  Jenks pointed at Christie and said “Right over here.” Stella and Larry gasped at her. They both were shocked for a moment. Then Stella was really furious. She stomped over to Christie and started giving her a real shout. Christie got up and yelled at Stella “Shut up!” she sat down again and spoke some more but calmly. She said “Don’t you get tired of shouting? At least at times can’t you keep that trap of yours shut?” Stella looked really hurt. She just shook her fist and sat down angrily.

Jenks told everyone to sit down and act maturely. It was looking as if they were going to pounce and hit each other. He then turned to Nancy and said “I need to go and solve a murder case. I hope you will handle it. There is officer Haden. Goodbye.” He turned towards the door and left. Haden turned around and frowned at Nancy and Bess. They both disliked each other and did even talk to each other, till it was an emergency. Nancy gave Haden’s frown reply by a horrible sweet smile, the smile to make Haden fell awkward.  He then looked at Christie and murmured something under his breath and asked “First of all, can you tell me your name?”

Christie replied “It Christie uh sorry it is Gabriella”

 Bess looked very angry. She whispered to Nancy “Christie’s name is Gabriella?!”  Nancy too was shocked. She replied Bess “Yeah. I hate that smirk on her face while saying ‘I am Gabriella’ what a loser.”

Haden continued ignoring the comments from Nancy and Bess “Where are you from?”

“From Dubai. A lovely place.”

Nancy muttered to herself “Whatever!”

Bess came up in front and solemnly looked at Gabriella and said “You owe me some answers too.” Gabriella got up and said “I don’t want to speak to you.”                                                                                         Bess yelled at her “You have to!”                                                                                                                            Gabriella was now furious she looked at Haden and said “Tell her to shut up and sit down.” The officer calmed both of them down and said “Bess please corporate.”                                                           He asked Gabriella “So why did you do this?” She said casually “I was working in a scheme. A big scheme…”  Haden nodded his head and continued “So…tell us the scheme Gabriella” 

She laughed and said “Never!”  Haden went red. He got up and took hold of Gabriella and said with clenched teeth “Don’t you say a no and never to me! Tell me the scheme now!” He plumped Gabriella on the stool she was sitting. Gabriella then said “Okay...okay I will tell you. I am from Impavido gang. We steal antiques and sell them. We are so rich, you can’t even imagine it. I was here to steal and sell these antiques from this place. That’s what we do. We sell expensive items. I was told the place which was United States in sidewalks in this Phoenix mall. All I had to do is some stealing work.  How I wish I hadn’t come to Nancy’s house. I was so dumb to do it, it was like inviting trouble. It was such a perfect plan and you destroyed it!”

Nancy asked Gabriella “So why did you plan an attack?”

Gabriella said “oh! Cause I didn’t want anyone to doubt on me. I would have been on a suspect list”

Nancy realised that Gabriella was wearing those pink sandals which were worn by the intruder. Nancy also thought how she could have been fooled by Gabriella’s fake attack. Nancy could not smell the sweet scent of chloroform so how did she believe her.  Nancy pushed aside her thoughts and said “well, I am so sorry that you weren’t so clever Gabriella.”

Nancy had solved another great mystery and was awaited for another one.
