Inspector Jenks arrived in an hour. Mrs. Cupcake was still sitting on the stool crying. Jenks went near to her and spoke in a firm but polite way “I am inspector Jenks a police officer from River Heights. Please may I know who you are and what is your business here?” Stella  quickly got up and introduced herself “I am Mrs Cupcake. I own this store.” Jenks noticed Bess and Nancy sitting on the boxes in the attic. He went up to them and asked “Hello Nancy! I suppose you and Bess called me here. Why didn’t you handle it all alone?” Nancy hesitated for a moment then spoke “uh... Actually Mrs Cupcake didn’t allow me to ask questions so I couldn’t solve any further.” Jenks went up to Stella and told her about Nancy and what a good detective she was. He told so much that Nancy got embarrassed by the praise. Jenks told Nancy he was in a hurry for a murder case in London and was about to miss a flight so if she could take care of it. Nancy happily agreed and told him there was no need to worry as she would solve the case. Jenks walked out of the shop hurriedly leaving Nancy, Bess and Stella. Nancy walked up to Stella and asked her in a sugary sweet voice “I hope now you will be able to answer some of my questions?” Stella frowned at her and nodded her head.

Nancy immediately removed a notebook and asked “Stella can you tell me where you were at the time when the theft was taking place?” Stella told “I was with my sisters children. I had gone to an amusement park with them.” Nancy nodded her head and scribbled it down in her notebook. Then she sat down on the stool and continued “Whom do you think is the thief?” Stella looked up with triumphant expression and told “oh yes! I don’t think I know the thief. I think it is you! Bess’ friend, Nancy drew.” Bess looked up surprised. Nancy told her “excuse me. You don’t even know me. I just introduced myself. How can you blame me for such a thing? I am a quiet dignified detective.”

Suddenly Stella spoke loudly “that’s what I wanted to hear. You are a detective. No one will even think of you as a thief. And for you introducing yourself now, let me tell you I can judge people on their first time.”

Nancy said in a firm voice “Ok! Fine. If that’s what you think go on complain to the police. I am not a thief and now I will find the thief!” and she walked off.

As Nancy and Bess sat into Nancy’s black mustang, Bess spoke “Geez! That woman drives me crazy!” Nancy knew her friends nature and always calmed her down but today even Nancy was flaring with anger. A woman was thinking she was a thief! “Yes seriously. It was hard to make her answer my questions.” At last Nancy spoke thought today she should not calm down. Bess looked up surprised and told “but that is not the only point. She thinks you are a thief! A thief and that to you? Was she joking or something?”

For the rest of the time they both discussed about the case and Stella. Nancy dropped Bess at the Marvin’s residency and drove off to her home. Her housekeeper, Hannah, was waiting for her. Hannah was Nancy’s house maid and a caretaker of Nancy, while she was small. Hannah was like a second mother for Nancy. After the death of Mrs. Drew, Nancy’s mother, her father needed someone to take care of Nancy. He hired Hannah, who became a fun loving friend and sometimes a mother to Nancy. As Nancy entered she saw Hannah sewing. Smell of grilled cheese was in the air. Nancy pounced in the kitchen and asked “hmm… smells good what’s cooking?” Hannah looked up from her work and smiled and told “Ah grilled sandwich.” Nancy loved sandwiches she hugged Hannah and said “Love you Hannah! But where is dad?”

“He is gone to a conference and will be late. You eat it quickly. I just made it and it’s hot. Bye sweetie. Goodnight.” Hannah walked to her room. She woke up early in the morning and slept really early. Nancy ate her dinner and smuggled to bed. She was thinking about the mystery going on. Slowly she fell asleep. The next day when Nancy just woke up, her cell-phone beeped. Nancy checked her phone it was Bess’ message it read:

Need to tell you something. Come soon J

Nancy messaged her back:

Okays!

Nancy wondered what Bess wanted to say. She quickly jumped out of her bed and had a quick shower. She went downstairs and saw Hannah at the breakfast table. She picked an apple and got up to leave, but Hannah forced her to have some cereal. Nancy quickly finished her breakfast and left. She drove her mustang to the Marvin’s house. Nancy knocked and Bess came. Bess and Nancy went up to the pink bedroom of Bess. There Bess said “Christie’s phone had come.”

“So…”Nancy retorted

Bess went on “she said that she had a second attack and she realise it was a girl who attacked her.”

Nancy punched her fist in the air and jumped but paused for a moment and asked Bess “but how does she know whether it was a man or a woman?”

Bess explained Nancy that Christie was washing hands in the washroom and someone came and covered her mouth. Christie kicked hard and the attacker fled. But when Christie was fine she realised she had seen a ring on the attacker’s finger which was pink and read ‘GIRLS RULE.’ She had even noticed the attacker wearing red nail polish.”

“Wahoo!” Nancy cried. “That gives us a real good clue” Nancy knew well that any man would do that to just distract them but still Nancy felt it was a women attacker.
