I started walking down the stairs at the Yule Ball. Nearly everyone was staring at me. I felt very insecure. In my own bedroom I feel free and the hottest girl in the world, but seeing all these other girls in their beautiful dresses... I put my head down while taking the first few steps down. But then I heard Blaise shouting for me.
"Get your head up girl! You're stunning"
I look up to the crowd and there he was, my date. With his arms out to greet me. I ran down the stairs with my chin up, and jumped in his arms, he span me around and now everyone was staring, and at that moment I didn't care. I wanted everyone to stare. We giggled while i was getting dizzier and dizzier.He placed me down so gently and we looked each other in the eyes like we were the only people in the ball room.
"I love that dress" Blaise whispered in my ear.
"Well, thank you for getting it for me" I whisper back.
"What are you taking about?" he said in confusion.
"You got this dress for me didn't you?"
But before he could answer, Draco and Pansy swooped over to us.
"This ball is ridiculous" Draco muttered.
"Oh shush Draco" Pansy laughed "we're here to have fun"
"Well you're not fucking fun are you?" Draco hissed.
I saw Pansy was hurt by his words, and I couldn't stand there and let him speak to her like that.
"Draco show some respect to your girlfriend" i snapped.
"She's not my fucking girlfriend" he yelled aggressively.
"Oh- I thought-"
"You thought wrong. I'd never go out with a push over like her"
I could see Pansys face burn red. Anger grew inside of me, I can't let Draco shame her like this. I pushed Draco with all my force, which isn't much.
"You say sorry now!" I yelled.
"Don't you fucking touch me!" He yelled louder
"Why would I listen to a fucking pathetic girl like you? I'll do what I want."
"If you keep speaking to your friends this way, you'll end up alone!"
"Maybe that's what I want!"
That echoed.
The whole ball room was silent.
What do I say back to that?
Draco Malfoy's bottom lip dropped.
And he walked off.
He always fucking walks off.
I went to chase after him, but Blaise stopped me.
"Don't bother with him" Blaise said.
"Someone should go after him!" I insisted.
"No, you just have to leave him, this is always how he acts"
"Maybe he wants someone to follow him"
