Hazel

I wake up the next morning and smile a little bit. I look up to see my beautiful girlfriend still sound asleep.

Dani's long dark hair is everywhere and so are her long limbs. She has a strong arm wrapped around my waist keeping me close to her. I smile at this while reaching up to push some of her hair out of her face. Dani always looks so calm and beautiful when she sleeps. I love waking up next to her.

I lay in Dani's warm embrace for a little bit longer before deciding it is time for me to start my day.

I try to gently wiggle out of Dani's death grip without waking her. I only manage to get so far before Dani unconsciously pulls me right back into her larger body, wraps both of her arms around me, and tosses a leg over mine.

Now I'm stuck.

"Well shit." I mumble to myself.

"You're not going anywhere." Dani suddenly rasps in a sleepy voice, not bothering to open her eyes.

"Mmm? And why's that?" I ask, slightly distracted. Dani's sleepy voice is always so sexy.

"Because I said so." Her grip tightens around me.

"Babe, I have to get up."

"No you don't."

"Yes I do, I have work to do."

"No you don't."

"Yes, and I want to make breakfast."

"No you don't."

I simply huff and stare at Dani in disbelief. She still hasn't opened her eyes, but she has a huge smirk on her face. I can't help but smile and giggle myself.

"I really didn't want to have to do this but..." I start tickling her sides which makes her eyes snap open and let out something between a laugh and a scream. Dani immediately lets me go and tries to get as far away from me as possible. I take this as my chance to make my escape.

I stand up with a proud smile as I grab my work laptop while Dani just glares at me from under the sheets.

She groans and pull the sheet over her head. "You suck."

"And you swallow." I drawl as I head out of our bedroom which causes her to laugh.

The morning sun beams through the office windows and splash warmly against my skin. I sip on my morning coffee, before returning to my seemingly endless amount of paper work.

I have spent most of my morning preparing a case against a corrupt businessman who has been smuggling money into his own pockets through an illegal Ponzi scheme. It's not the first time I have worked on a case like this, and it certainly won't be my last. However, I always have to put my best work forward, especially in a male dominated industry like law.

Most people who know and have worked with me in the past consider me one of the top lawyers in the city. I'm always reminded about how I've never lost a case and how my career has been more successful in the past few years than most peoples careers are in their entire lives. However, I try to remain humble and remember why I'm even in this business I'm the first place. How far I still need to go to reach my dream.
