Daniella
The next few days have been stressful for both Hazel and I. We both had important things to handle at work. Hazel has this huge case that she has been working on for the past few weeks. She has been trying to settle the case, but the other lawyer has been very difficult to make any sort of deal with.
I have been busy at the agency preparing for the New Year's Collection Unveiling which is now only two days away. This week has been busy, but it brings me some piece of mind to know that almost everything is ready to go.
My phone suddenly rings in my pocket. I check the caller ID and quickly answer.
"Mrs. Willmore." I say. Mrs. Willmore is the owner of Willmore Models. It's a modelling agency I've worked very closely with for years, and I've made a friend in Mrs. Willmore.
"Hello, Daniella." Her smooth voice replies to me.
"And what do I owe the pleasure?" I spin around in my chair and look down at the foggy city below me.
"I have some unfortunate news, dear." She says to me through the phone. "Three models who were supposed to walk your runway on Friday had either gotten hurt or sick."
I suppose I spoke of my piece of mind far too soon. This wouldn't be a bad thing if the Collection Unveiling wasn't in less than two days. There's hardly any time for the replacement models to get used to the runway route or their outfits. Hell, they don't even have much time to rehearse. I also like to meet the models who will be wearing and representing my brand.
I let out a long sigh and rub the bridge of my nose. "Finding replacements will be hard on such short notice. They won't have time to rehearse, get familiar with their outfits, or the catwalk..."
"Yes, that is exactly right." Mrs. Willmore states. "That is why I am sending you three of my best upcoming models. All three of them are extremely talented and will be able to deliver fierce looks. I wholly believe that they will be able to overcome these unforeseen circumstances."
I feel relief spread through my body at the promise of my Collection Unveiling being unaffected by these sudden changes. "Will I be able to meet the new models?"
"Yes, I will ensure all three of them meet you before the show starts. Once again, I'm terribly sorry for these last minute changes, Daniella." Mrs. Willmore says sincerely through the phone.
"Please don't apologize, I know I can count on you. Just make sure the old models get well soon." I reply before spinning around in my chair when Naomi knocks on my door and walks into my office. "Well, I have to finish preparing for the Collection Unveiling, Mrs. Willmore. I'll see you this Friday." We say our goodbyes and hang up.
Naomi sits in one of the leather chairs across my desk and scrolls through her tablet, pushing up the glasses resting on her nose. Her dark curly is in neat box braids and she's wearing a pencil skirt and blouse.
Naomi isn't super tall, but still stands at about five foot eight without her heels on and is quite beautiful. I always told her she should be working as a model and not at my PA, but she usually says she just likes bothering me all the time.
"Well, everything is ready for Unveiling, though I was just updated about a change of three models. I'll make sure you meet the new models before they walk. You and Hazel will be officially appearing as a couple, so be prepared for questions from the press. Everything for the after party is ready to go as well, everyone who was on the invitations list has confirmed that they will be attending. And Hazel's dress is ready, Nelly says she'll hold on to it until you two show up to get ready for the Unveiling." Naomi turns off the tablet and places it on the desk as she leans back in her chair. "Now we basically just have to show up."
