What will the eyes see should they end up here?
What will the minds think as words pass by their ear?
Shifting dunes, unstable ground
Pain has stopped but what is that sound?
I tried to be honest, I looked straight into your eyes
I found nothing but doubt, the colors asking me why
Down the drain, will I ever recover from you?
Blood red, do you know, or don't you have a clue?
How deaf the ears are when the mind is closed
How blind the eyes are even when truth is exposed
Darling, have you wondered why our love is empty as it's so
Have you ever thought that maybe what we have is just for show?Let's face it, then—I know the roads we've been
Mistakes of the past, bonds of the future not seen
Why does it seem like all we do is fire back
Every word said, every action—something they lack
We have been together, but apart, for years
Whom are we sticking out for—ourselves or our fears?
Who will condemn us if we choose to give up
Who will pick up the pieces after the battle has stopped?
Because in life, we never get what we want
We never found contentment—everything is scant
Because, darling, no one is stopping you as you go
Maybe, the truth is that what we have is just for showDreams barred, senses no longer mine
Freedom squashed and somehow, I'm paying the fine
Of forgotten souls and misunderstood hearts
Accusations are based on feelings, on minor restarts
Faithful songs, quiet rumors—all pile up in our wake
You wouldn't want that—but really, for whose sake?
Saving your skin, being a saint—call it what it is
I'm not angry, just merely repairing the bliss
Of unprotected self and guards let down
One misstep and in suspicion we drown
So tell me now—what is it that you already know
Did you consider that maybe what we have is just for show?Fall lasts and winter takes its time
Isolation ensues and perhaps being alone is a crime
Feelings spent, arguments are won and over
It could have been better than just mindless banter
Safe and sound, will my sleep be tonight?
So far, only fireflies are dying in my sight
The seasons end and a new one takes its place
Chances die, pain fades, all against a race
Of all the truths that you refuse to believe
I'll give one to you, something you can't conceive
Where we are right now, we won't be able to grow
Because all we have, all we are—we are just for showThis is a very personal poem whose story I wouldn't want to share with anyone. lol. So yes, you now have this random poem about my personal life.
