When looking out of my bedroom window, the stars in the sky blinked as if trillions of eyes were watching over me. I smiled, feeling the wind drifting through my window, blowing my hair into a tousled mane. Suddenly, my phone vibrated below my pillow, stealing my attention from the beautiful sky, and instead replaced with a booming alarm.

My usual nighttime routine consisted of my ten-step skincare technique, attempting one of my many homework assignments, and arguably the most important part — listening to my favorite podcast.

Always at exactly ten-thirty, Wanda Sykes hosted her 'Heart Shape Kisses' podcast on all streaming sites. I've been obsessed with her shows since the start of high school and haven't missed a night since ninth grade.

The notification to her stream appeared, and I clicked on it without hesitation. Scrambling around, I searched for my laptop, trying to recall wherever the freak I left it in. Damn it! I must've left it in the dining room. The thought of retrieving it now, while it was still dark, petrified me but if it's for Wanda Sykes, I'm willing to do almost anything. Almost!

After a quick jog to retrieve it which featured tie-toes and getting frightened by the imagery ghost in the living room, I sat down in front of my chiffon pink desk and opened my math book. Whoever created Geometry hated happiness. I swear! Who in the heck thought shapes and numbers go well together? Because I sure don't.

"Hey, guys, it's your girl, Wanda Sykes! Now, generally, the best time to talk about this topic is during the beginning of the school year, but you guys know me. I like shaking things up."

I laughed, rubbing my palms together to substitute for screaming. Something about hearing Wanda's cheery voice brightened my day-- almost as much as when he smiled.

"Tonight's topic is 'Crushes'; more specifically confessing to your crush. Recently I saw a psychic who told me that if I fall for someone in the future to not hold back and confess my feelings for them. If not, it could risk the results of the relationship and it really stuck with me. I've always been the type to shoo away my feelings, but I wanted to inspire you, young girls and boys to challenge yourselves like I couldn't."

Her shows vary between advice, funny stories, and conspiracy theories. I love a good conspiracy theory and I really wished for one tonight except I got this.

Crushes.

Ugh...

Funny, I literally just stopped thinking about him.

Declan Novak was basically a statue of chiseled perfection that was hand-sculpted by sex gods and put on earth to cause us, girls, to go insane! Everything about him was so fascinating, and manliness oozed from every one of his pores.

I'd been crazy about him since watching him deliver his speech at an assembly during freshman year. The way his determination and poise shined throughout his commentary captured me. Something I wished I could do. I was basically one of those cartoons with heart-shaped eyes.
