Dinner time was also known as staring at Declan's face time. Rarely do we ever make eye contact, so I don't have to worry about my crush catching me. Sometimes when he chewed on his rice, his forehead would crinkle like he was thinking about something. Hopefully, me. Just kidding in my dreams.

I can't believe in a few minutes, Declan and I would be alone in my room studying together. Two weeks ago, I couldn't even speak to the boy, let alone blackmail him into helping me. Hopefully, Declan didn't think my whole mother rant was a lie because I meant every single bit, but I needed to ensure his help.

"Lana, I'm going to make another snack for you tonight," his mother said.

"I appreciate it, thank you," I replied with a small smile.

"Mom, do you mind making an extra snack and bringing it to Lana's room, please," Declan included, earning a shocked face from the entire family.

"Two? You're going to study tonight?" she pondered, utterly shocked.

"Yup." he popped the 'p'.

"That's not fair! You never helped me study. Can't you help me study too?" Sam complained angrily crossing his arms over his chest.

"You're already doing great," Declan replied. "Hart, are you done eating, yet?"

Slurping my freshly made noodles, I nodded my head and used my sleeve to wipe the excess from my lips. The time has finally come for us to have some alone time. Is this what seven minutes of heaven felt like? My heart was already insanely beating, and we weren't in the room yet. Heart, please work with me today.

"Thank you for dinner," I babbled, quickly shoving my chair under the table and followed Declan to my room.

Basically, calm Lana has descended to the sky and was left with an insane, heart-crazed Lana, which wasn't my favorite version of myself. Was it bad that another one of my favorite things was watching Declan ascend upstairs? His butt fit perfectly in his black jeans like two firm apples, basically yelling at me to squeeze it.

Declan was waiting outside my room and we stood there confused before I realized he wanted me to enter first. With a wave of my hand, I awkwardly walked in and heard the door close behind him. Oh, my god, it's really happening. My heart is already in a frenzy. Maybe it was a terrible idea to ask Declan to help because I don't think I can focus on anything other than his face.

Spreading my legs, I bowed down and extended my arms, gesturing for him to come sit down by the desk. It wasn't until my nervous gaze met with his extremely unpleasant ones that I immediately fixed, my posture becoming stiff as a stick.

"What should we start on? Which subject do you need the most help with?" Declan asked, his hands shoved into their pockets.

My face instantly lighted up just from the sound of his rough, slightly caring voice. "Um... Math?"
