Demisexuality is where people only feel sexual attraction to people that they share a close emotional connection with. This connection can be from friendship or from other ways too.
Demisexuals aren't people who decide to wait until they have sex with someone. It isn't about having sex; it's about feeling sexual attraction.
(I do realise that a quite a lot of people here are under than they age of consent - including me - so take this next bit with a pinch of salt)
How to tell if you are demisexual:
Ask yourself these questions:
1. Is sexual attraction important to me in relationships?
2. Do I ever feel sexual attraction to people I don't know well?
3. How well do I need to know someone before I feel interested in them?
4. Do most of my relationships begin as friendships? On the flag:
Black represents asexuality
Purple represents community
Grey represents grey-ace (when people fall between asexual and allosexual)
White represents sexualityFor the haters:
Demisexuals are not attracted to every person they share a close connection with!!!
