CAMILLE
-----
My sleep was cut off by someone calling me early in the morning. Who has a business with me this early! I groaned and picked the call without checking the ID.
"Good Morning, darling. How are you doing?" Said an angelic voice from the other side.
"Morning, Mom. I'm good. How about you?" I smiled.
"I'm alright too, honey. Your father and I miss you both. Can you come over tonight? I'll prepare dinner for you." She said hopefully.
I couldn't help but agree to her. Anyway, it has been a while since Lucas and I actually went home together.
I reluctantly got out of my bed and after brushing up, I headed towards the kitchen. Lucas was already up and was sipping his coffee while reading the newspaper.
"Good Morning." I said and sat across him. He greeted back and soon kept his newspaper down. "So...Mom called me a while ago and she wants us to visit and have dinner with them tonight." I continued.
"That lady ain't our mom and I ain't going there tonight, if that's what you want to tell me." He simply said, taking a sip from his coffee mug.
"Lucas, please. She has always treated us like her own children and it's been long since we visited them." I spoke.
"Honestly, I don't care." He said and shrugged.
"You will come with me tonight." I said flatly, looking straight in his eyes.
He gritted his teeth and after nodding at me curtly, he left the room. I huffed quietly at his behaviour. For some reason, our real mom, Katherine had left us when Lucas was eight. I was just four at that time. Two years after that our father remarried to Lauren. Lauren was always sweet to us and treated us as her own children but Lucas refused to accept her as his mother. He would call her fake and kept his distance from her. After so many years his hate didn't change for her.
I sighed yet again and after cleaning the dishes, I went to dress up for my work.-----
It was a busy day at the shop today. I was putting icing over the cupcakes with Selene while Noah served the customers outside.
After doing that I gave the tray to Noah and busied myself with other things. As I was about to help Selene, I heard Noah call my name from the outside. Soon he was in the kitchen, "Cami! There's a customer who liked your cupcakes and he wants to talk to you!"
"Really?" I asked.
He nodded and grabbed my hand and led me outside without even warning me. Selene just chuckled lowly at us.
As I went out, I met with those beautiful blue eyes, they seemed to flicker after looking at me and his lips curved up a little, as he gave me a small smile. Axel. But the smile faded immediately as he eyed me and his cold, indifferent look was back. I followed his gaze and realized that Noah was still holding my hand. I quickly let go.
"This is the girl you asked for. Our Cami is a specialist when it comes to cakes." Noah grinned and patted my back lightly.
"Ohh I see, I happen to have a sweet tooth." Axel spoke, staring at me. I blamed myself for blushing that easily. Then he looked at Noah and said, "Can I have a chat with Cami in private?"
"Yeah sure. You guys can take the seat in the right corner." Noah winked at me. I just gawked at the two men.
"So shall we?" Axel asked. I nodded followed him to the seat. After we both were seated he continued, "I came here to apologize for being so blunt with my words yesterday, I didn't mean to hurt you. And about your boyfriend-"
"I don't mind." I said quickly with an unintentional bite in my tone. He gritted his teeth and just nodded.
We sat there in some awkward silence before I stood up and was about to leave when Axel lightly grabbed my hand and said, "I liked your cupcakes a lot," He scratched the back of his head and continued, "So...I would visit again maybe." I laughed lightly and agreed and then left with a small smile on my face.-----
