The night was long and drowsy due to the rain that was banging against your window, the closed curtains of your office swung around from the air vents below. Dark surrounded you except the only light coming from your computer in front of you. Your back was hunched over the computer on the chair, your hands against your cheek crushing it. Your eyes dragged across the screen searching for the correct answer on each document sent to you. There was some much work that you had to finish, hoping to complete every one of them. No one was forcing you in fact, a majority of it wasn't even yours... people were just too lazy to finish it.
You rubbed your temples, now drifting your fingertips down to the keys. Typing away sorely. You take it among yourself, get it done, and not worry about it over the holidays, to have fun with your family. But work comes first before any fun. That is how it is especially when it comes to hero work. Your eyes became sorrow, eye bags hanging.
The last letter clicked off the screen. Leaning back in your chair you give a long sigh rolling your eyes looking over to the open door. You forced yourself out of your chair to spin around, unplugging your laptop. You shifted around your desk, your vision getting blurry from the sudden lack of light. Spinning on your heel you quickly picked up your belongings pushing the door open to make your way towards the common room by your colleagues. By colleagues you mean our assistant being the only one there. Late at night.
The empty room echoed your footsteps and like clicking on the clock. Also some clicking of the keyboard... The light ding came from your pocket. Digging it out as you made your way over to the coat rack. Slipping it off the hook you wrap it around your body, the snow being familiar to the outside. Your cold hand wrapped around the phone, opening it up to see Shouta Aizawa leave a message for you...Your face had a warm smile at him. Aizawa was your husband for about 12 years now... met in High School, had your arguments, and fell in love. You were very grateful for him even though sometimes he could be a grump...
Your legs kept on moving not noticing the awaiting assistant in front of you.
"Done for the day?" they asked, tilting their head to the side looking at you.
Your body jumped at the sudden words, alarming you. Looking at them and sighing in defeat you replied, "Yeah... sure has been a tiring day."
Their eyes drifted towards your open hand, the bring screen tempting their eyes to read. They scanned the screen carefully reading out the little message your husband had sent. Smirking.
"Work is a bug ya' know..?" you said, busily digging in your pocket.
They hummed looking down at their desk, shaking their head. Lifting their head back up, they scanned your face trying to study it. They could see the eyebags and they knew you were stressed as much. There was a little silence before you signed off to them.
"Make sure to spend time with Shouta." They said, moving their body down into the chair again. You looked at them, smirking.
"I will Sachi, thank you. Make sure to get some rest tonight," you replied, moving towards the hallway. They gave off their greetings and so did you.
Pushing the door open to the outside the quick air blew against your face running to your car in hopes Aizawa would be ready for you once you came home. The heels of your shoes clicked against the pavement as you came to a stop in front of your door, cold hands opening it. Twisting the knob, the gush of warm air met your cheeks. Relief of warmth from the winter atmosphere. The lights on the hallway were lined, and they blurred your vision. You could see down from the long hall the fire was on and everything in the living room was made and neat. You quickly slipped off your shoes and swiped off your jacket, now wandering down the hall.
Once you arrived in the living room, in your full aspect. Not a living soul was there, just the couch and the fire that was crackling below the blank screen on the TV, expecting Aizawa to be snuggled up on the couch ready to hold him.
Your eyes followed down the opposite hall on the left searching for your husband. However, he was nowhere to be found. Worry overfilled your heart searching desperately. He could protect himself but seeing how tired and how your mind wasn't in the right place, it was overwhelming. Your body twisted and turned around each corner, accelerating into each room.
Bedroom, closets, bathrooms, living room, kitchen... oh, kitchen the one place that skipping your mind. You raced towards the waiting room to dart around the corner expecting to see your husband... to your surprise he- wasn't there. Your feet landed in a bump scanning your eyes and catching your breath. Your sense constructed. Stong fragrance filled you in a sudden burst of scents. Your lungs extended somewhat choking on the smell.
The scents started to mix inside your stomach your nose feeling different colors at once. Wandering over to the counter you saw a mess.
The kitchen was full of bowls, spoons, bottles, mixers, and well... a plain mess. Didn't make sense how all these things got here unless Eri was over. There were wicks and a huge bag of what looked like candle-making soy wax. A boiler, and mixing tools. Your body laid against the marble counter observing it again and taking in the work that you would have to accomplish later on tonight. And worst of all, your husband wasn't even present with you.
A large, dramatic sigh left your lips dipping over to the side to catch something you at least can munch on.
Loud footsteps quickly moved behind you, combat mode activated. Your body swung around to finally see your husband there. However, not the same as usual.
"An A-Apron?" you asked, stumbling over your words, stuffing your little giggles under your tongue. His tired eyes looked to the side rolling his eyes and his neck, stuffing his hands' in the pockets. He could see your mouth trying to contain the laughter cheeks reddened.
"At least my outfits have pockets..." he mumbled.
Walking towards you he wrapped his arms around your waist studying your eyes for the sake of the world.
You looked back smiling, then turning to finally enjoy your snack knowing that your husband is safe... and wearing an apron. Something you wouldn't see in him maybe every day but you knew you could easily change that...
You avoided his lurking stare enjoying your snack. You decided not to ask about the diaster in the room for he would explain it, soon.
"I see you are not going to question the elephant in the room..." he sighed motioning towards it.
"Was hoping you would explain it."
He took your comment to heart and made his way to the counter to start cleaning it off for future actions. Shouta started to moving things around and cleaning places. He grabbed the bag and slipped it under his arms to pour it slightly into the measuring cup. Once he put it down he balanced it out and started to pour it into the bowl. You watched him from afar, now drifting a bit closer to him to get a better look. You quietly hummed, watching his hands work against the mixture stirring it once in and while. He slowly turned around to look at you, taking your soft hands into his and guiding you to mix them. You looked at the swirl in the mixture, smiling, him copying the look.
Your head tilted to the side to rest it against his muscular arm to bring some type of comfort.
"I thought Eri was here for a moment," you said, giggling. Aizawa looked down at you a smirk covering his face. After a little silence, he huffed. Since Eri was new to the family and grew together with Shouta it was kind of like you were the other parent. She was very hesitant to you at first been when she saw her role model giving you love and being comfortable around you, the little sprout of love grew between you and her."She loves you, ya know?" he said. Your smile grew bigger and bigger at this little comment, feeling loved.
"How did this happen by the way," pointing towards the island full of colors. Shouta avoided your action and replied,
"My students had this thing going on in their dorms, turns out they were making 'scented candles'... so they offered some of the materials to me since I had today off from parenting," he said, sighing. A hum of amusement left your lips, smirking. The parent jokes were often..."I thought you would want to make some with me for like... Christmas presents..." he trailed off. You nodded your head agreeing to the idea.
"I guess you know what you're doing then," you commented, shifting forwards to watch him more. His hands guided into your signaling to hold the stick to keep mixing. You complained as he moved to get the little bottles of fragrance. Opening the cap he dipped it while you continued mixing.
He watched your work then took your hands and stopped it."Pour it in," he said, putting his hands around yours and tipping it into a bowl. Watching the wick seep under it. After it was half-wayed filled you pulled on the wick to make sure it was secure. Aizawa smiled at you, shaking his head. Your eyes were placed stationarily on the bowl and not hesitate to take them off. You never knew Aizawa would have been satisfied by this role and work. I guess it was calming.
Soon you took control of the kitchen now fascinated by the works, I guess the fact that you were recently doing work for everyone else made you go in control. Shouta backed away from you while you took the rest of the wax and poured it. Watching it lay into the bowl, your hands tightened around each object. He was curious about how such a stubborn but loving person could be complexed about this little thing.
Your beautiful brows furrowed sticking your lips out to get it perfectly settled against the right spot. You continued to wander your eyes around it until you made sure it was perfect.
Yes, in fact, this was cool. Maybe something even new to you.
Your body spun around to look at your husband, "What next?"
He walked forwards to take the scissors to finally cut the excess of wick off.
"Well.. pretty sure you have to wait until it's done drying to do anything special." he sighed, inspecting work though there was no need for it. Your eyes studied his body now looking back at him and then back at your masterpiece.
He straightened his back and looked at your mishappened eyes, you repeated the movement back and forth. Wonder absorbing your feels.
