THE ASSISTANT II : THE RETURN OF LESLIE

I sigh as my day has finished at the office and look at the clock its 8pm "ah damn! I need to go home!" I say to myself as I shut down my computer and lock the door.

Meeting after meeting about finances since we started this label, this last meeting took all of my energy.

Everyone has gone home, the cleaner  Mr Seo is just putting his coat on "Goodnight Mrs Ji" he says as he waves to me I wave back and make my way out of the building.

I take the lift down to the car park yawning man I am so tired I think to myself I unlock Ji's black Mercedes and get in and prepare to drive, I pull out into the road and make my way.

Ji calls me as I answer on the hands free:

Hey babe,

Babe where are you?

Just coming home now from work.

Oh, you had that finace meeting  didn't you?

Yeah. . .yeah it was long, are you ok?  He has been feeling really down it's almost like he is depressed.

I hate seeing him like this he just told me to go to work while he tries to recover, Leslie has really got a hold of him.

Yeah I'm alright just waiting for you dinner is ready.

I laugh

Ok I'm 20 minutes away.

We talk about work and the finances, I give him feedback from the meeting and let him know that we will go over some cut backs tomorrow.

As I drive I look in the rearview and see a white Toyota SUV behind me, it's been following me for about 4 minutes.

As I'm talking to Ji I drive and glance at it now and then.

As I turn left at the light it follows me again, I slow down for it to overtake me. I look at the driver a old man with a chauffeur hat on as he drives past and goes in front of me.

And there. . .a woman looks back at me smirking. . . I thought she was out of the country?

Leslie smirks as the car drives off disappearing into the night and turns left.

I continue to drive not noticing Ji calling my name

Leah! . . .Leah are you there?

Yes! Yes sorry, I got distracted.

Baby you shouldn't get distracted when you drive, look after my baby.

Me or the car Ji? I ask as he laughs.

She's seen me through many heartbreaks and Christmas's.

Oh so what about me? I ask as we both laugh.

Babe, nothing compares to you, you know you're special to me.

Just then as I drive on talking with Ji, I'm watching the road but I don't notice the white Toyots coming over to my left and nearly crashing into me!

I press on my break and sound my horn as it speeds off  down the road on the right.

LEAH ARE YOU OK? WHAT WAS THAT?

"I'm fine Ji" I say and breathe slowly and let him know that I'm nearly home.

I get home and park Ji's car on the driveway since mine is in the shop.

Ji steps out of the house as I lock his car door and walk over to him he meets me halfway,

"Leah are you okay?" He asks hugging me and checking on my body, looking and feeling my face.

"I'm fine Ji, it was just an idiot that doesn't know how to drive nearly cleaned me off the road" I tell him as we go inside he kisses me on the cheek as we sit down

"dammit! What were they doing?" He holds my hands and looks at them "you're shaking."

I tell him again that I'm fine " I'm alright" I hold onto him as he cuddles me.

After dinner and a bath we sit in bed I can't sleep knowing that I just saw Leslie. I should have followed her I whisper to myself.

Ji lays down drifting off to sleep and mumbles "Leah go to sleep" I snap out of my thoughts and lay down, he turns to face me and yawns scratching his hair messing it up and leaving some of it to cover  eye, "what's wrong?" He asks.

I have to tell him.

"Well, the person that tried to  knock me off. . . It was a man in the car with a chauffeur hat on" Ji sits up next to me and puts his lamp on, I sigh and continue.

"But at the back of the car I saw her"  Ji cuts in "who?. . . Who was in the car?" I turn to face him it was as if he could read my mind through my facial expression "Leslie?!. . . It was Leslie right?" I put my head down as Ji gets up kicking the covers off and goes downstairs, he is not impressed.

I have to do something but I don't know what to do. I run downstairs to Ji in the kitchen he stands next to the fridge looking out of the window.  I sit on the counter and sigh "are you okay?" I ask him.

He nods his head and walks over to me "what are we going to do?" Ji messes with his hair  and frowns " wait a minute? Isn't she supposed to be in Korea? Why is she here?" I shrug my shoulders as he leans on the counter next to me "we need to contact the p.i tomorrow."

I nod my head "you're right." Why didn't I think of that! Gosh I'm so stupid.

"We'll get to the bottom of this Ji, she doesn't know who she is messing with." Ji smiles as he comes closer "listen to my Leah all ready for war" we laugh together and cuddle. " I won't let anything happen to you Leah"

I nod my head and rub his back "I'll protect you Ji" he breaks out of the hug and kisses me gently and whispers "let's go to bed".

He lifts me off the counter and carries me up the stairs like a new bride. I wrap my arms around his 6'1 frame as he lays me gently on the bed.
