After our meal we had returned to Ciel's Study and continued our game once again. It was his turn when he asked me out of the blue; "So where were you, really?" I studied the board, judging how long it would take for us to finish the game.

I chuckled quietly, spinning the piece to find out how many moves to make. "I was in the kitchen." I moved my piece 3 spaces, frowning slightly. "Haunted by a monster from your past." I spoke. Again? We've only played one game and twice I've landed on this square. Surely it will – No. This is just a game.

"Do tell me why you were in the kitchen?" Ciel looked at me as I frowned down at the board. Shaking my head, I brought myself back to reality.

"There was an explosion in the kitchen." I answered, "I wondered what it was."

"Oh?" Sebastian spoke up, "Why is it that you did not inform me, M'lady?" I looked at him out of the corner of my eyes.

"Because the situation was handled, as you saw at dinner, Sebastian." I smirked slightly before returning my attention to the game. Ciel had finished, landing on the last square.

"Happy ever after." We both mumbled.

"Once something is truly lost, you can never get it back." I frowned slightly, nodding in agreement.

"I suppose that is true." Mother...

We both sat quietly for a while, thinking about several things. What was on Ciel's mind, I was unsure. But I know that my own was filled with thoughts of my mother, the things father did, the servants working in uncles manor. Uncle. Jackson.

I frowned slightly. I still didn't know who Jackson was in a contract with. I began biting my lip as I thought, running through a possible list of who would go into a contract with him. I had bitten my lip so much that blood was beginning to leak from a small cut, catching Jackson's attention.

"M'lady." He cut me from my thinking, bringing me back to reality. With a soft sigh, I wiped the blood from my lip and licked it from my finger.

"Thank you, Jackson." I looked to Ciel, who was still deep in his own thought. "Ciel?" I called out, standing from my seat. He didn't answer. Chuckling softly, I moved around and ran my fingers through his hair gently before moving over to the window in the study. I looked over the gardens, studying them blankly. I turned to Ciel's desk, noticing a set of darts there. I frowned before looking up to Sebastian. He merely smirked at me, as if daring me to throw one.

So I did.

I picked up a dart, throwing it at Sebastian. He just caught it though, chuckling.

"So you are a demon." I murmured, frowning. "What is it with demons lately? You're everywhere." Jackson laughed.

"Not everywhere, M'lady." I sighed softly.

"I suppose so..." I looked at Sebastian.

"Sebastian Michaelis, Demon Butler of Ciel Phantomhive, at your service M'lady." He bowed briefly. I nodded, and then looked at Ciel. He had closed his eyes and looked like he was asleep. I chuckled softly, moving over and poking his cheek continuously until he paid attention to me.

"Hm? Oh, Rose..." He sounded tired. I chuckled.

"Did Sebastian keep you up last night, Ciel?" He blushed a most becoming colour of scarlet.

"What are you talking about, Rose? Don't be stupid!"

"Master, why are you denying it? I did keep you up last night. After all, you had paperwork to finish." I laughed and Ciel grumbled silently.
