"PLEASE! HELP ME!"
Darkness surrounded the young girl. All previous sounds were muffled - she could no longer hear the agonised cries of her siblings downstairs; the sound of her parents bodies hitting the floor no longer rang in her mind.
Suddenly, she heard an ominous voice.
"I offer my services to you, in exchange for a price. Choose wisely. Should you reject the faith even once, the gates of paradise will be forever closed to you."
Turning, she could see a slim black cat sat on the window sill. Its tail swung from side to side at a luxuriously slow pace, its eyes - a curious fuchsia pink - boring into her very soul. An aura of elegance, grace, and danger oozed from its very being, filling the air with tension.
"I..." Should she ask questions? No, this chance may slip from her grasp. "I accept. Help me find them and end them!"
"Very well."
The darkness imploded into nothingness, and the girl could see her room again. Beneath her feet, she could hear her siblings sobbing with grief once more.
There, sat on the window sill where the cat had been moments before, was a young woman wearing a black dress. Her brunette hair was tied into a high ponytail, her nails filed to a point, her eyes - now as green as a forest - still boring into the young girl before her.
"What do you wish to name me? My name shall signify my rebirth, I will be yours to control until the time that our contract is complete."
The young girl, her new master, was stunned for words. Was this really happening? Eventually, in a feeble voice, the young girl managed an utterance of:
"I... I don't know, I'm sorry."
With a hum, the woman on the windowsill stepped down and nodded her head.
"Very well. Since you chose no identity for me, I have taken on one of my favourite forms. I am Rose, Lady of Sakura, Kitten to the Earl of Phantomhive. My services are yours for as long as required; and the day that our contract is fulfilled, your soul is mine for the taking." With a dramatic sweep of her arms, the woman bowed before her new charge.
With a shaky breath, the young girl nodded. Now, it was time for vengeance.
A slow, devilish smirk curled onto the demon's face. Her husband was sure to be proud of her catch.
