Liam's POV
Everyone filed into the gym for the Spirit Assembly. Most people were only there for Dirty Candy's performance. Carrie Wilson, who is the groups leader and lead singer is the most popular girl in school. She really only hangs out with the other people in the music program. I really wanted to be apart of the music program but because of my older brother, my parents hated the idea of me getting into music which is why I had to hide it from them. I hate him for ruining music for me, but I also miss him which is the weirdest thing because he died years before I was even born.
Carrie walked into the gym followed by the rest of Dirty Candy. They got into formation and then the music started. They started dancing and Carrie started singing. Carrie's dad also happened to be the one and only Trevor Wilson. I was sitting a few rows in front of her boyfriend Nick who I was kinda friends with, but only because we were on the Lacrosse team together. I looked down and saw Julie with three guys I have never seen before.
Before I knew it the song ended and the rest of Dirty Candy got behind Carrie.
"Thank you!" Carrie said to the crowd.
"We love you, Carrie!" A random girl from the crowd yelled.
"Oh, I love you too!" Make sure to check out my new YouTube video." Carrie continued. "Oh, go Bobcats." She added before her and her entourage followed her.
"Thank you, Dirty Candy. Now before you all leave we have a few more announcements..." Our principal started to say, but I was more focused on Julie and the boys she was talking to. I didn't know why but one of them looked kinda familiar. I packed up my stuff and began to walk out of the gym when I heard a piano start to play.
"Sometimes I think I'm falling down
I wanna cry, I'm callin' out For one more try to feel alive And when I feel lost and alone I know that I can make it home Fight through the dark And find the spark." Julie was on the stage singing and playing the piano. I stopped walking and stood there to watch her play.
"Life is a risk but I will take it Close my eyes and jump Together I think that we can make it Come on, let's run." As she sung the last part of what I assume to be the pre-chorus the guys she had been talking to appeared on the stage playing instruments. Everyone stopped walking and gathered around the stage. Julie got up from the piano and started dancing around with the guitar player.
"And rise through the night, you and I
We will fight to shine together Bright forever And rise through the night, you and I We will fight to shine together Bright forever." Julie sung.
"And times that I doubted myself
I felt likе I needed some help
Stuck in my hеad with nothing left

So unclear, lifting me out I found the ground I'm marching on." The guitar player sung and for the first time I fully and clearly saw his face. No, that's impossible. It can't possibly be him. He's dead. Clear as day I was watching my dead brother sing and play guitar on stage.
"

After they all bowed, the guys disappeared from the stage. At this I had been crying and ran out of the gym before anyone could tell that I was crying.
