Chapter 2

I open the water bottle, and I raise my hand. The water goes up too. Gigi gasps. “I wonder what kind of powers I have.” She moves her hand. Nothing happens. She twists her hand. Still, nothing happens. She was getting angry. “Why isn’t anything happening?” she makes her hand into a fist. “I want my powers to kick in!” Suddenly, the bottle I had in my hand got too hot to hold. “Ow!” I dropped it. She relaxed her hand, and smiled.

“Cool! My power is heat!!” Ali came inside. “Sorry. I saw someone very interesting, and I got distracted. What did I miss?” Gigi giggled. “Well, I know what my power is, and so does Lilli. I have heat. Lilli can mess with water. We have to figure out what you can do.” Ali nodded. “Okie dokes.” She raised her hand, and nothing happened. Then, she put her hand into a fist, and still… Nothing happened. “I don’t think I have powers, guys.” Gigi went closer to her. “I got some motivation.” She threw water at Ali, and Ali put her hands out, and it froze. She can freeze water… I think I said it out loud, because Ali looked at me with the biggest smile. “It’s cool, right?”

I nodded, and smiled back. My smile disappeared after a few seconds. Ali noticed. “What’s wrong?” I thought about it. There is supposed to be a powerful on in the group. Who is it supposed to be? “I don’t think we have a powerful one in the group.” I have got to stop thinking out loud. “You really do.” I smiled to myself. “Shut up.” They laughed. Something still doesn’t add up. I’ll look into this later. “I think we should get home.” After what seemed like forever, we finally get ho- to my house, and we sit in my room.
