Sorry the chapters have been so short, I'll try my best to make them longer.
Love you,
Shae ;)"Question number 1," he started.
"How did you find out your kidnapper was your Dad's best friend?""Well, he wore this mask all the time, so I actually didn't find out until the second month." I recalled.
"At the time, I lived in the basement of their house. But I remember one day at supper, or, whatever you would call a piece of bread and two carrots, he was talking to this girl who also wore a mask. So I sorta just thought, 'If I'm going to die, I want to know who took me so I can come back and haunt the crap out of them'."
Niall laughed.
"Good reasoning." He said teasingly.
I rolled my eyes.
"Anyways, I just got up, snuck into the living room, and yanked the masks off their heads. I remember his eyes when I did. It looked like he was going to kill me, literally. I didn't recognize
them at first, but when I took a step back, it sorta just came rushing back to me. I realized he was someone I'd grown up knowing, which was terrible for me. But then the worst part came. The girl in the mask he was talking to turned out to be his wife, Angela. She was someone I trusted totally and completely as a kid. She was sort of like my Aunt, I guess. When I realized she assisted Don (my Dad's best friend) in kidnapping me, it was too much to take in at once. So I just sprinted to the shed in the back yard and closed the door. I remember it smelt like fish so bad, but honestly I couldn't of cared less. All of a sudden I heard a lock click, and when I tried the handle, I realized I was locked in. After that, they just slid plates of food and juice packets under the door. When I finally escaped six months ago, I hadn't seen daylight in six years, so I almost went blind." I explained, my eyes watering at the memory."S-So, uhm, yeah." I stuttered. I looked down at my feet like they were the most interesting things in the world.
The truck was getting more awkward by the second.
"Anyway.... Here's my first question." I said, breaking the eerie silence.
He nodded, preparing himself for whatever I had to ask him.
"Do you.... Have a picture of Tracey on you anywhere? I'd like to see her..." I asked, regretting it already.
Niall reached into his pocket and pulled out his wallet. He placed it in my hand and looked out the window. Not much to look at. Everything was still white. I opened his wallet up hesitantly. Right at the front, there was a picture of Niall, taken around three years ago ( I'm guessing ), standing with a little girl clinging to his back. They both had wide smiles on their faces, like they were having the time of their lives. I let my eyes wander on Niall for a minute. In the picture he looked so young and innocent, like a little boy with nothing to lose. I guess the photo was proof that things have changed. I let my eyes linger a little longer, then moved onto Tracey.
She was a beautiful little girl, only around 3 years old. In the picture, she had two bouncy little blonde pigtails, and her face was loaded with freckles. She wore a green T-shirt with a white clover on it, and some jean overalls. Her sneakers were one of those pink light-up ones I had as a kid. I zoomed in on her face. Her eyes were an astonishing blue, just like her big brother's.They looked alike.
"She's beautiful." I whispered.
"I know" he croaked.
I looked over, and saw a tear dribbling down his cheek. Before I came to my senses, I reached out and grabbed his chin with my hand, turning him to face me. His eyes looked puffy, like they do when you cry. He stared at me, looking straight into my eyes with those beautiful blue orbs.
